Ease is thought of as comfort and the absence of effort…It’s also serenity, poise and the absence of rigidity or force. Can we live a largely easeful life even while we’re engaging in the difficult situations that are inevitable to living? I believe I and even we CAN be easeful even when things are uneasy, especially when we make the effort to CHOOSE ease, serenity, poise and flexibility with the difficulties. Yesterday, my travel plans got all bonkers due to canceled flights, more delays, and inconvenient reschedules that activated my nervous system and brought up lots of emotions like frustration, annoyance, dread, impatience and discouragement. Choosing ease in this situation became: 🌊 Letting myself experience my emotions (energies in motion), validating them and being compassionate 🌊 Consulting with nature, giving my body fresh air, space and dialogue with some tree friends 🌊 Asking for support from human friends and folks involved in the trip (these contemplations came to surface as I was talking to my dear friend @inthebetween.alchemy❣️) 🌊 Laughing at the trickster ass universe and It’s ways of humbling, conspiring with and aligning us 🌊 And THEN recommitting to my values of adventure, community and stretching out of my comfort zone, all of which this trip asks of me It’s not EASY to choose ease and to let my body receive it (ughh it’s really not, and parts of me want it to be easy, dammit!)... But in choosing ease, I will take this red-eye flight across the country, then 2 trains, a bus and a taxi to get where I’m trying to go today and tomorrow…and my efforts will be easeful. ASÉ🙏🏽
