When my oldest was two years old, he chased after a garbage truck for one mile. Now both of my boys will yell “Garbage Truck!” whenever we see one and if outside, they’ll stop and watch. My oldest even told me the garbage trucks look kind of like Transformers. I see it.
Since my boys love garbage trucks, and really just all things with wheels, I decided to take them to the viewing area at the North Transfer Station as it overlooks the tipping floor. I thought we’d be there about half hour, but were there two hours!
My boys loved watching the trucks unload trash and the tractors push the garbage against the wall. I think they could have watched that all day. The viewing room also had trucks, cars and tractors for kids to play with, which was another hit with my boys.
I loved how entertained my kids were by this activity. Plus, there were educational displays throughout the room so we all learned something, too. We will definitely return!
