🥊 Most amateur boxers think that aggression alone wins rounds. That’s not what USA Boxing judges are trained to score. According to USA Boxing judging criteria, officials evaluate: 🥊 Number of quality blows on the target area 🎯 Technical and tactical superiority ⚔️ Competitiveness 📋 Infringement of the rules What’s interesting is that the research points in the same direction. Studies on amateur boxing have found that winning boxers tend to: ✅ Land more punches ✅ Be more accurate ✅ Throw more straight punches ✅ Use more feints ✅ Create better angles ✅ Miss less often In other words, the athletes who win aren’t usually the busiest. They’re often the most efficient. Hit. Don’t get hit. Win the round. #Boxing #AmateurBoxing #USABoxing #BoxingCoach #training

To become a professional boxer, here are the steps you should follow: 1. Start Training Early: Begin boxing training as soon as possible to build a solid foundation. Join a local boxing gym where you can learn the basics of footwork, punches, defense, and conditioning. If you have prior experience, focus on improving your technique. 2. Get a Coach: A qualified boxing coach will help you develop your skills, create a training regimen, and guide you through your progression. Choose a coach who has experience with professional-level fighters. 3. Improve Physical Conditioning: Boxing requires excellent physical fitness. This includes endurance, strength, speed, and agility. Conditioning will also help prevent injuries. Include cardiovascular exercises, strength training, and boxing-specific drills. 4. Amateur Boxing: Start by competing in amateur boxing matches. This will give you experience in the ring, allow you to improve your skills, and build a competitive record. You can enter local tournaments or competitions in your region. 5. Get Registered with a Boxing Organization: To compete in amateur boxing, you must be registered with a national boxing organization. In the U.S., for example, this would be USA Boxing. They regulate amateur boxing and provide opportunities for competition. 6. Build a Reputation: Consistent wins and performance in amateur matches will help you build a reputation. This will attract attention from promoters, sponsors, and potential managers. 7. Turn Professional: Once you’ve gained enough experience and have a strong record, you can transition to professional boxing. This involves signing with a manager and promoter who will help you find professional bouts. 8. Continual Improvement: Even as a professional, continuous training and improving your technique is essential. Professional boxing involves more intense competition, so always seek ways to improve your performance and stamina. 9. Stay Focused and Mentally Strong: The mental aspect of boxing is crucial. Staying focused on your goals, learning from each match, and maintaining confidence are all part of becoming a successful boxer. #boxing #explore #knockout

A fun fact about Lamont “The Reaper” Roach Jr.: @brawler.app He turned professional while still attending college. @brawler.app Roach signed with Golden Boy Promotions in 2014 and made his pro debut while he was still a student at the University of Maryland, balancing college coursework with the demands of a professional boxing career—a rare path for elite fighters. @brawler.app Another cool fact: before becoming a world champion, Roach had an accomplished amateur career, winning both the 2013 National Golden Gloves and the USA Boxing Youth National Championship.
