How I passed USMLE Step 1 (using just 2 resources) 🤍 A lot of you have been asking about my strategy, so here’s exactly what I did: 1. The decision took me 6 months. I didn’t want to give USMLE just because everyone else was doing it. I didn't want to follow the crowd. The question that stayed with me was will this exam help even if i chose to stay in India? 2. My preparation took 5 months. No coaching. No 10 different resources. Just a focused plan and consistency. 3. I used only TWO resources. 📖 First Aid 💻 UWorld Question Bank That’s it. I didn’t keep jumping from one resource to another. 4. I started with systems from First Aid. Renal is the best system to start with. After one reading of a system, I immediately started solving its UWorld questions. I learned both simultaneously instead of trying to master First Aid first. 5. Don’t panic if your UWorld scores are terrible initially. Mine were too. UWorld is primarily a learning resource, not a testing resource. 6. Decode every single line of First Aid. It’s a very concise book yet so detailed, every sentence, every diagram, every table is high yield. 7. By around 3 months, I had completed my first pass of UWorld and read First Aid 2–3 times. Repetition is what helped the concepts stick, not reading new books. 8. The last 2 months were all about questions and mock tests. I kept revising First Aid, solving more questions, analysing every mistake, and annotating anything new I learned. 9. I still struggled… especially with time management. Sometimes I had accuracy but couldn’t finish the paper. Other times I rushed and made silly mistakes. That’s completely normal. 10. Everything finally clicked in the last month. The concepts started connecting across systems, patterns in questions became familiar, and my scores improved. So if you’re struggling right now, please don’t lose hope. Improvement isn’t always linear, but if you stay consistent, things really do start making sense. Good luck, you've got this❤️ #trendingnow #usmle #usmlestep1 #explore #mbbs

When people ask me, why do I keep emphasising about Usmle scores? I tell them exact story of how I matched. I had no publications, no researches, no connections, and not even a green card. All I had was a Step2ck score of 254, Step3 score of 230 and my interviewing skills. I see so many IMG just completely focusing on their research is publications there extra curricular activities while forgetting that even today, the single most important metric for an IMG To match in the US is still the Usmle transcript. Stop messing around and start focusing on your Usmle steps. And follow for more Such insights

I asked Dr Saleem a question that I’ve been thinking about for a long time: “If you had to do it all over again, would you?” As he spoke, it wasn’t just his answer that stood out—it was the way he spoke about it. You could tell he still misses Pakistan. He misses having family close by, lifelong friends, the sense of belonging that comes from growing up somewhere. Those are things success can’t simply replace. At the same time, he didn’t regret the path he chose. That conversation reminded me that the American Dream isn’t just about better opportunities or a bigger paycheck. It’s also about the sacrifices that rarely make it into success stories. Every dream comes with a price. The real question isn’t whether that price exists—it’s whether it’s worth paying for the life you want. I’m curious: if you had the chance to do it all over again, would you? #fyp #usmle #usa #doctor #medicine
