2004, my first appearance in New York was a thrill. But it was quite scary as well. My first notes were not only filmed for the making of a DVD, also in the audience was the congregation of European Jazz festivals with all the major programmers of Europe assembled . So I had first contact with the American audience in the legendary club @birdlandjazz , all the major jazz festivals from Europe in the audience, and it was filmed for eternity. The funny thing is, I just had taken some lessons from Kenny Werner @effortlessmastery and Fred Hersh, @fredherschmusic and some of that what they taught me was how to face fears and battle your ego. Probably also for that reason you can see me play quite relaxed while I am under quite high pressure. Of course, the main reason that I was able to play like this, and to feel like this was my surrounding with the fantastic musicians of the band of Dorado Schmidt , whom I consider to be a legend, possibly as big as Django Reinhardt @djangoreinhardt himself. In the band was also the legendary drummer Winard Harper @winardharper a key figure in history, one of the Harper Brothers.
