Sometimes when able to, extra time and patience can help a anxious friend🤍🐾🩺 #vetmed #urgentcare #vetassistant
I get asked so many times if I’ve ever felt burnt out? And the answer is- Yes. There are some days that completely destroy me mentally and physically. And then the following days just repeat, it can be so draining. but I’ve come to realize that even on the hardest days the smallest of wins Matter, because they still Matter🐾🤍 Yes, my life has not been easy, but I have been so INCREDIBLY BLESSED with the people in my corner. They see me, they know me and they’re the reason I keep going. They’re the reason I can continue to reset and show up to work every day. if you ever feel like you’re on the edge of burnout, take a step back and remember what grounds you. Find your inner circle that will keep you safe when the world around you makes you feel like you’re not🤍 I love what I do and I pray that I can do it for as long as I possibly can 🐾🤍🩺 #vetmed #urgentcare #vetassistant #burnout

Spicy does NOT mean bad. It usually means scared. New smells. New hands. New sounds. And the only thing he knows how to do is puff up and growl like he’s so large and in charge 🤣 Baby boy came in talking a big one but still got his exam, vaccines, and left healthy. No forcing, no manhandling. Just patience, confident restraint, and actually respecting feline body language. Kittens don’t automatically trust us. That’s earned. And sometimes earning it means getting growled at the entire appointment. Still a good boy. Still deserved gentle care. Spicy ≠ aggressive. Spicy = unsure. And that’s okay. #vetmed #vettech #vetassistant #vetnurse #explore

What’s the hype about probiotics and pets?? Are they necessary and do they work? Many describe probiotics as the “good” bacteria that can be given to help restore or support gut health. What many may not know is depending on the strain of bacteria, they can do so much more such as promoting a strong immune system and even interacting with the gut brain axis to help with anxious behaviors in our pets. One of the most challenging aspects of using a probiotic is choosing the right one. Here are my quick tips when evaluating a probiotic: 🦠 One size does not fit all. There are different types of bacteria that are used and depending on strain may determine its effects. Make sure you can properly identify the bacteria with a first, middle and last name(genus, species and strain)! 🦠 Probiotics are considered dietary supplements which means that there are limited regulations. Data on quality control, safety and effectiveness may be spotty as a result of this. It’s up to the individual manufacturers to conduct trials and ensure safety measures are present. 🦠 Viability of the probiotic is key. The beneficial bacteria being used has to make the incredible journey from the mouth to the colon without being destroyed. This is difficult and the only way to know its success is through efficacy studies!! Now I currently use probiotics in both of my pets and will recommend for many of my patients. If you think your pet should be on a probiotic, talk with your veterinarian to discuss which ones they advise! ♥️🐾🩺 #probiotics #microbiome #veterinarymedicine #veterinarytech #vetassistant #vetstudent #prevet #medicalcare #petcare #petguardians #onehealth #InstaVetBestie
