Who said learning violin technique canโ€™t be a party? ๐Ÿ’๐ŸŽป In this session, weโ€™re using Pancho to master "active string crossings." Often, students get stuck moving only their wrist, but for true control and flow, you need the whole arm. Pancho helps us visualize that "elbow up, elbow down" movement, turning a tricky technical challenge into a fun, interactive game. Itโ€™s these moments of laughter and discovery that define the Bamboo Methodโ€”where technical precision meets pure, shared joy. Suzuki Book 4 is the perfect timing to step up your game ๐ŸŽป Donโ€™t press through every note. Release the bow, give it a little lift, and let the violin ring โœจ Sometimes, less pressure = more beautiful sound. Try it in your Book 4 piece and hear the difference! ๐ŸŽถ #violin #violinlessons #practicedaily #violinpractice #practice

โ†“ ALL 200 VIOLIN EXERCISES + VIBRATO DRILLS ๐ŸŒ www.violaviolinlesson.com ๐ŸŽป SAVE THESE 6 VIBRATO EXERCISES FOR YOUR NEXT PRACTICE SESSION. Want to develop more control, flexibility and variety in your violin vibrato? These 6 exercises focus on different elements of vibrato technique โ€” including control of width, speed changes, double stops, bow coordination and pizzicato vibrato. Instead of repeating the same vibrato motion every day, train different aspects of the technique and gradually build more control over speed, width and expression. Which exercise would you practice first โ€” 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6? ๐Ÿ‘‡ #violin #vibrato #violinpractice #violintechnique #violinlessons

3 things โฌ‡๏ธ You can practise violin until the cows come home, but if youโ€™re missing some of the less obvious pieces, youโ€™re making progress ridiculously hard for yourself. Check yourself against these 3: 1๏ธโƒฃ You donโ€™t practice enough (be honest with yourself) 2๏ธโƒฃ You donโ€™t listen to your playing (itโ€™s a skill to practice) 3๏ธโƒฃ You donโ€™t do any aural training (this will help with no2) And THIS is where so many violin learners get stuck. Because when you start learning, nobody hands you a list of all the things you donโ€™t know you need to know. You learn some notes. You work on your bowing. You practise your pieces. But how do you know what ELSE you should be working on? What skills are you missing? What should you prioritise? And how do you know whether the way youโ€™re practising is actually moving your playing forward? After 15+ years of teaching violin, Iโ€™ve seen this over and over again. The students who make solid progress arenโ€™t just practising more. They know WHAT to work on and HOW to work on it. Thatโ€™s exactly why I created The Complete Violinist Roadmap. I took the structure Iโ€™ve used with my students for the past 15 years โ€” with over 85% achieving higher than a credit in their exams โ€” and turned it into one clear, self-paced roadmap. Video, audio and downloadable materials guide you step by step through the key skill areas at your level, so you can stop guessing what you should be working on and actually know what to do to move your playing forward. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Comment โ€œROADMAPโ€ and Iโ€™ll send you the details ๐ŸŽป ***make sure youโ€™re following me or Instagram might not let my message get through @violinwithcatherine #violรญn #learnviolin #violinteacher #violinlessons #violinlearner

One of the most important things I teach is how to keep the body quiet and motionless while the hands, wrists, and arms remain completely flexible. Think of a marionette puppet: the body stays still, but everything that needs to move can move freely and naturally. When you eliminate unnecessary movement and tension, playing Bach becomes so much more effortless. The technique starts working for you instead of against you. Stillness in the body. Freedom in the hands. Effortless movement in the bow. Thatโ€™s the goal. ๐ŸŽป #BachViolin #ViolinTechnique #ViolinLessons #ViolinPractice #ClassicalViolin
