🚫 Don't Visit Japan During These Times! Thinking of traveling to Japan? 🇯🇵 Better check your calendar first! While Japan is beautiful year-round, these 4 seasons/periods might just make you regret your trip: 1️⃣ Golden Week (Late April - Early May): The entire country is on the move! Crowded trains, expensive hotels, and long lines everywhere. 😱 2️⃣ New Year’s (Late Dec - Early Jan): It's family time in Japan, which means many shops and restaurants are closed. You might find yourself in a very quiet city! 🎍 3️⃣ August: Think you can handle the heat? Think again! The humidity in Japan is on another level. You’ll feel like you’re melting! 🥵💦 4️⃣ Pollen Season (Feb - April): If you have hay fever, be prepared! Even if you don't, you might develop it here. Don't forget your masks and tissues! 🤧 Planning a trip can be tricky, but don't worry! If you want a local to help plan your perfect Japan getaway, feel free to DM me anytime! 💌 #JapanTravel #VisitJapan #JapanTips #TravelWarning #JapanGuide

Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto are amazing, but don't forget to explore some of Japan's lesser-known destinations too! 🇯🇵✨ Some of my favorite experiences in Japan actually happened far away from the typical tourist route: peaceful nature spots, charming old towns, hidden onsens, and local places with barely any crowds. Trust me, it's totally worth it 🌾✨ #japantravel #hiddenjapan #visitjapan #japantrip #offthebeatenpath
❌ THINGS TO AVOID IN JAPAN & ALTERNATIVES - Part 1 Japan has always been a very popular place to visit. But now more than ever, the country is struggling with over tourism. If you love people-watching, by all means, still head along to these iconic landmarks in Japan. If you’re seeking a quieter alternative, we’ve listed them here👇 ❌ AVOID: Visiting Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. A visit during the day is a huge mistake. It’s super crowded and hard to find a quiet space ✅ ALTERNATIVE: Visit Hie-jinja Shrine in Tokyo instead. It looks very similar, you can visit during the day and it is far less crowded ❌ AVOID: Arashiyama bamboo forest in Kyoto. It attracts hundreds of tourists and tour groups each day. It’s hard to escape the crowds ✅ ALTERNATIVE: Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple Bamboo Forest is a much less crowded alternative in Kyoto. It resembles Arashiyama so much, it’s hard to tell them apart in photos ❌ AVOID: Tokyo Skytree. It’s a tad expensive, often crowded and hard to get a good view or take a pic, especially at peak hours. ✅ ALTERNATIVE: Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. It’s free to enter and the observation deck is much more spacious, so you have more window room and walking space ❌AVOID: Golden Gai Tokyo. It’s laneways with glowing lanterns leading into tiny shanty-style bars tucked behind alleyways is stacks of fun. But a lot of bars charge entry fees (up to $20) just to sit for one drink ✅ ALTERNATIVE: Nonbei Yokocho, Shibuya. Here, you can get your Japanese speakeasy bar fix without the ridiculous prices or crowds. ❌ AVOID: Sensoji Temple’s Asakusa Nakamise. This is the strip of snack and souvenir shops leading up to the iconic Sensoji Temple. What used to be a cultural experience has turned into more of a cattle march ✅ ALTERNATIVE: Ameyoko street market. Right near Ueno Station, it’s like Tokyo’s perfect mix of a garage sale and flea market We visited the popular spots and honestly loved them just as much as the alternatives. Your thoughts? Crowds or no crowds? 🤗 We’ll be posting more Japan tips soon… #japan #kyoto #fushimiinarishrine #traveljapan #explorejapan #hiddenjapan #travelcouples #traveltips #miniguide
