Opal22 Arts and Edutainment invited some of our Black Girl Magic Group members to a focused group discussion on identity and what the term "half-caste" means to people of mixed heritage. An awesome session! #opal22artsandedutainment #youthwork #girlswork #blackgirlmagic #identity

The 2026 Black Hispanic Achievers Spring Trip is underway, and it’s powerful to witness. Twenty-eight Achievers are spending their Spring Break not just traveling, but learning, immersing themselves in history, expanding their perspectives, and being intentionally exposed to what is possible. This experience is about more than a trip. It’s about connection. It’s about understanding the shoulders they stand on and envisioning what’s possible ahead. Each stop, each conversation, each moment is designed to stretch thinking, build confidence, and affirm that they belong in every space they walk into. We are investing in leaders. We are creating exposure that turns into opportunity. And we are building a future where these young people don’t just dream, but have the tools, the knowledge, and the belief to achieve. This is what it looks like when we pour into our youth with intention. #ccec #clarkcountyequity #EquityInAction, #youth, #youthempowerment

Our 2026 Spring Break Camp wrapped up last week Friday! All throughout their play in art and music, they found safe spaces to express themselves, reflect, and thrive. Arts education isn’t just about learning techniques it’s about nurturing healing, shaping identity, and building brighter futures. If you’re looking to invest in kids like these, the next generation of artists, we invite you to Rhythm & Roots 2026: Healing Chicago, One Child at a Time. It will be an evening of live performances, food, fun, and inspiring stories from the people whose lives are being changed through access to the arts. Because when a child is given the space to create, they’re also given the space to heal, to grow, and to imagine a future beyond their circumstances. April 18 | 6–9 PM 📍 1319 S State St. 🔗 Get your tickets at famecenter.org #RhythmAndRoots #HealingThroughArt #YouthEmpowerment #SupportTheArts #ChicagoEvents
