Finding Paradise in the Canyons of Oman.
If anything feels like true magic, it’s hiking through the rugged and sun-baked terrain of a canyon and coming across the secret emerald oasis of an Omani Wadi.
The waters are so translucent that every rock at the base is visible, shining with colours of turquoise that defy reality in contrast to the high orange limestone cliffs. Swim through the tight spaces leading to hidden caves, an ‘pinch me' adventure you will cherish forever.
It’s a complete paradox: a water oasis in one of the driest places on Earth.

Bro said he knows a spot…
📍Bimmah Sinkhole, Oman 🇴🇲
💰Entry fee - FREE
🚘1.5 hours from Muscat
Bimmah Sinkhole is a stunning natural depression filled with turquoise water.
It formed naturally when the roof of an underground limestone cavern collapsed, though local folklore claims it was created by a meteorite.
This breathtaking swimming spot is roughly 20 meters deep and located about 125 km (a 1.5-hour drive) southeast of Muscat.
We booked a tour to Wadi Shab and because we used @getyourguide it included a stop off at the Sinkhole 😍

Are you adding Oman to your travel list?😱🫶
Oman is full of the most beautiful Wadis, canyon like structures that have water flowing through them. The most popular one is Wadi Shab - which is honestly amazing! But if you go with @mohammed_alhadi87 he’ll show you the hidden wadis near Muscat! You can swim, kayak, paddle & cliff jump - honestly, these are the places I feel one with nature, they help my mind slow down, I guess that’s what they call meditation. Just be truly present!
Thank you, Oman 🇴🇲 for bringing me that peace!

This is the most unique spot and a true oasis in Oman, Wadi Shab!
You can reach Wadi Shab by 2 hours drive from Muscat city.
To make yourself to this cave you’ll first do a 45 minutes trekking and afterwards half walking half swimming in the canyon.

After the hike and swims at Wadi Shab, I was completely exhausted and honestly had no plans of getting into the water again.
But then we stopped at Bimmah Sinkhole.
And for a few minutes, all I could do was stand there and wonder how something like this even exists.
The turquoise water, the limestone cliffs, the sheer contrast of colours... it almost felt unreal.
I didn't go swimming. Partly because I was tired, partly because we were short on time. But surprisingly, I didn't feel like I missed out.
Sometimes, just witnessing a place is enough.
For those wondering, a sinkhole forms when underground limestone slowly dissolves over time, creating a cavity beneath the surface. Eventually, the ground above collapses, leaving behind a natural depression that can fill with water, just like this one.
Nature has a way of creating things that no architect, designer, or artist could ever replicate.
