Thank you to everyone who participated in the Coldest Night of the Year Walkathon! It was heartwarming to see our community come together to support such an important cause. Your generosity and compassion helped raise an incredible $150,413, which will go towards providing warmth, shelter, and hope to those in need.
It was truly inspiring to witness the dedication of so many community members, volunteers, and supporters who braved the cold to make a difference. This event wasn’t just about walking—it was about standing in solidarity with those facing homelessness and housing insecurity, and showing that together, we care.
A huge shoutout to Blue Door for their incredible work in supporting vulnerable members of our community, and to all the volunteers and organizers who made this event such a success. Your efforts remind us of the power of community and the impact we can make when we come together.

I joined Dr. S Vasoo and Henry Kwek to kick off our annual Walk2Remember 2024. Since its humble beginnings in 2019, this walk has grown into a heartfelt tradition, raising awareness about dementia while reminding us of the importance of staying active together. Did you know that regular exercise can help delay cognitive decline in seniors? It’s just one of the many reasons we walk, especially alongside our dementia residents and their caregivers.
A huge shoutout to our Ang Mo Kio senior care heroes from AWWA, TOUCH, and Allkin for making this event extra special. It’s moments like these that show the strength of our Yio Chu Kang community—walking hand in hand towards a healthier future. Let’s keep moving, together! 💙🚶♂️
