📍9.5 miles Ladybower, Peak District
A beautiful route exploring Win Hill, Bamford Edge and Ladybower reservoir. I’d definitely advise to download and follow this one as well as take my video guide, there’s lots of turns to navigate!
* 🚗 Parking is pay and display at S33 0BY (Heatherdene car park)
* 📈 Difficult
* 🚂 Direct train available from Sheffield or Manchester to Bamford Station
* 🐕 Dog friendly (but there is one stile)
* ⏱️ This route took 4hrs+
* 🍺 Pub stop at @yorkshirebridgeinn
* 🍰 @bamfordbakery is a great spot for a snack!

Here’s an 11 mile hike from Hope, Peak District. I’ve included an optional shorter 8 mile from Castleton which stills gets most of the views in too. 🗺️

Being a budget traveller, I look for anywhere with free parking 🚗
And anybody else absolutely hate paying for parking? 🤷🏻♀️
Even if this means parking of a muddy grass verge 😅
On New Year's day, I visited one of my new favourite spots for a walk 🥾
And we found some great spots with FREE parking 👇🏼
- Ladybower Reservoir 🏞
Whilst there were some actual carparks with disabled spots, they were crazy busy 🥲
As you drive towards Derwent Dam, the rode has lots of spots where you can park safely for free 🙏

Lovely walk with views to the Derwent Dam and back 👏🏼
- Baslow / Curbar Edge 💕
One walk on either side of the road, with 2 amazing views 👀
If you're a sucker for a view, these walks are for you ✨️
And if you are a bit of a daredevil, you can sit on the edge of the Peaks 💭
Parking can be a little tricky here, with a small carpark 🚗
However, there are some bays and grass verges to park on further down the hill 🌙

You get 2 for 1 at this location 🪵
If you walk far enough along Baslow Edge, you may come across some beautiful highland cows 🐮
- Mam Tor 🌿
Probably a more known location in the Peak District 🦔
It is quite a steep walk, but there is a cafe about halfway up for a break☕️
It's also located really close to some caves, which are also worth a visit 🪨
There is an admission fee for these caves 🎟

This is Wayland’s Smithy along the ridgeway national trail which is said to be the oldest road in Britain dating back to prehistoric times (now a walking trail).
