This might be my favorite hike in Switzerland… 🥹✨
📍Oeschinensee
🚠 How to get there:
Take the gondola from Kandersteg — CHF 40 per person (round trip). You can also hike one way or both ways if you’re up for it. The gondola runs from 8:30 AM to 6 PM — go early to beat the crowds!
🥾 Hike to Heuberg Viewpoint:
For the views in the video, follow the panoramic trail to Heuberg. It’s a scenic loop (round trip), and even with the gondola, you’ll still have a solid climb!
➤ Distance: 9 km
➤ Elevation gain: 500 m
➤ Duration: approx. 4–5 hours
⚠️ It’s an alpine trail — make sure you wear proper hiking boots. Check trail conditions and the weather forecast before heading out for your own safety.
🌞 Best time to visit: The lake is best between June and September. The trail to the Heuberg viewpoint usually opens by mid-June — keep that in mind when planning!
🚣♀️ Other activities: Besides hiking, you can:
• Walk around the lake
• Go for a (very cold!) swim
• Rent a rowboat to explore the water from a new perspective
