When she arrived for the session, she was visibly nervous. “I am scared,” she confessed. “I don’t think I can go underwater at all,” she said. “I’ve seen your videos and honestly, I don’t think I’ll be able to do anything like that.” I reassured her that she didn’t have to. In these water sessions, going underwater is always a choice. The session simply moves at the pace of the receiver. I don’t think she believed me completely but nodded politely. We spoke a little before entering the water. She is a teacher by profession, someone who has seen many sides of life closely and carries a lot of responsibility. I told her the water work is majorly about surrender and trust. She laughed, a little self-aware. “It’s very difficult for me to surrender or trust,” she said honestly. “And that’s exactly why I’m here. I want to see how far I can let myself go.” When we entered the water, we began slowly. Repetitive movements, waiting for the breath to settle down and the body to trust the water and the movements. And then, magic happened. It wasn’t something planned. It simply happened as the body began to trust the process. She allowed herself to be guided through the underwater movements and after a while forgot when she was under and when she was above the water. By the end of the session, the nervousness she arrived with had completely melted. When she stepped out of the pool, she had a big smile and tears in her eyes. “I can’t believe I went underwater and did all those moves,” she said. “I have never in my life let myself go like this. Ever. This is the first time. I feel so liberated.” As she was leaving, she paused and said something that stayed with me. “You know, as teachers we talk a lot about creating a safe space for students. But this is the first time I actually understood what that means. I felt it in my body — what it really feels like to be safe. Next time I use that word, I will know the feeling behind it.” . . . . . . . . . . . #watsu #waterfear #nervoussystemregulation #safespace
A baker. Two fur kids. Running on very little sleep, constantly giving, constantly doing. For one hour, she didn’t have to hold anything together. In the water, her body softened. Her breath slowed down. Her mind went quiet. She said she felt like a fish. No thoughts. Just floating. Sometimes that’s all the body needs...a pause, a reset, a moment of being held. This was from our recent visit to Ludhiana (Punjab, India), organised by Priya Oswal @trustintheheart We’re based in Mumbai, and travel across the country to offer Watsu® + OBA® sessions. Two days after her water session, one of my students attended an NVC workshop. When invited to choose a feeling card, she picked fulfilled. She shared that she had no unmet needs. Later, she told me why. During the session, she said something shifted in her understanding of what being really means. Not doing. Not guiding. Not trying to create an experience. Just being. She felt how powerful whole presence is for the person receiving — and how much quiet strength it takes to hold space with gentleness and grounded stability. She also noticed something subtle and honest. What she once believed was stillness was often just the mind moving quietly in the background. Not being. Doing. The next day, when she practiced, she chose simplicity. Only a few movements. Repeating one movement. Letting it slowly expand. Not chasing technique. Not trying to do well. And in that simplicity, calmness appeared on its own. But what she shared as a receiver touched me most. She had been moving through several challenges in life and had been feeling deeply lonely. Yet in moments when she sensed the steady presence of her giver — simply another being with her — something softened. Her loneliness dissolved. She felt that her being was enough. Nothing more was needed. What she had been holding onto no longer felt heavy. When I read her reflection, I was reminded again: Nothing special needs to happen in the water. Presence is not something we perform. Healing is not something we manufacture. Sometimes, when presence meets presence, something quietly returns to wholeness. Deep gratitude for the trust of those who enter the water with me. . . . . . . . . #Watsu #somatichealing #WaterTherapy
This was and still is an out of body experience. The massage, the floating, the cuddles of the water. I literally surrendered to a level of mediation that really inspired me. Here there is magic and technique all combined together. WATSU (water and shiatsu) is a form of passive hydrotherapy. It combines elements of myofascial stretching, joint mobilization, massage, and shiatsu. #watsu #hydrotherapy #meditation #myofascialrelease

The body keeps the score, but the water helps settle the debt. 🤔 Do you feel like you’re carrying the weight of stress on your shoulders? When we live in a state of "high alert," our bodies can act as a physical suit of armor via psychosomatic manifestation. This rhythmic joint oscillation is designed to break through that protective guarding. As the water supports the majority of your weight, your amygdala (the brain’s fear center) receives the signal that it's safe to let go and surrender to the moment. That's the facilitating power of aquatic watsu therapy. Why this shoulder bobbing movement works: 🌀 Nervous System Regulation: Rhythmic swaying stimulates the vagus nerve, moving you from "Fight or Flight" to "Rest and Restore." 🌀 Synovial Fluid Flow: The gentle oscillation acts as a natural pump, lubricating stiff joints with fresh synovial fluid. 🌀 Somatic Release: Releasing "stuck" fascia in the shoulders often unlocks emotional stress stored deep in the body. #aquatictherapy #watsu #watsutherapy #jointmobility #myofascial

JANZU, A DANCE WITH THE ELEMENT ⛲️🕺🏾🧘🏾‍♂️ Janzu means “pacified river” and the purpose of a session is to calm you down and relax your body thanks to the lifting effect of water or Archimedes force, combined with the fluidity of the movements initiated by the practitioner. It looks like a dance, where the patient lets himself be cradled like a baby floating on the surface. The movements are gentle, intuitively guided by water and in harmony with your breathing. It is through a set of movements that the body deeply relaxes, realigns and re-harmonizes by itself. There is no manipulation, just a “Flow”. Janzu’s nickname is the “Rebirth therapy” and is based on the therapeutic properties of the water element. Water is at the origin of Life on earth and  Water connects us to the Divine. Symbol of femininity, purification, calmness and beauty. Water is the mother of all and the secret of Life is within Her. Since time immemorial, all spiritual streams and cultures around the world have been worshiping Water. In Asia, in Hindu and Buddhist temples, water is always present. According to them, it purifies the body, the mind and the soul. It is offered to nourish and honor life. — CONDITIONS & BENEFITS It is best when practiced in warm water between 31 and 34ºC to facilitate the relaxation of muscles, tendons and the nervous system. It can be done in a pool or natural places with or without wetsuit, depending on the temperature and personal preference.  During a Janzu therapy, you will be laying on your back at the surface of water with little floats attached to your ankles. You simply close your eyes and you are ready for more than half an hour of relaxation. Janzu can help you to: * Let go * Reduce physical pain * Free yourself from negative emotions * Silence your mind * Enchant your soul * Play with life again — — #janzu #water #watertherapy #watsu #aguahara
