One of the hardest parts about starting a small business is honestly just starting. The doubts creep in… the “what if this doesn’t work?” thoughts… the fear of putting your heart into something and not knowing how it will turn out. Because at the end of the day, you’re the one carrying the dream. You’re the one with the passion behind it, the vision in your mind, and the drive to make it happen. But the cool part is… what if it does work out? It might not look exactly the way you pictured it at first, but sometimes it turns into something even better than you could’ve imagined. That doesn’t mean there aren’t hard days or lessons along the way. There definitely are. But those lessons shape you, grow you, and become part of a story you’ll be proud of for the rest of your life. I’ve decided that listening to the CEO mentor (I met before you) I’ve been working with who had a big box background and only online sales has made me feel so far away from my brand. This past week, I’ve identified what I needed to do to reclaim my gut feelings and get back to expressing my brand. A few months ago, I reluctantly gave in to her idea that I should have traditional shop pages. Since doing it, my online sales and visitors staying on site dropped. I tell you this because your work and going through the modules turned me around. It brought me back to how I started. I used to think I had to do it perfectly to be “qualified.” I was so worried about what everyone else was doing that I almost forgot why I started. Then I realized: showing up messy, showing up tired, or just showing up anyway is the most empowering thing we can do for each other.
