My entire 2025 bug season was dedicated to getting as many pictures of spiders hanging from their webs with prey as I could.
Once you get the technique down it's not all that difficult. One hand holds out the flower/twig with the spider, while the other hand holds the camera. The biggest challenge is getting focal distance right, cause you can't change it mid shoot. Usually a light blow convince them to take the leap.
Some spiders simply refuse to jump/hang. Others will chill upside down for a good little while. You just have to hope they don't decide to spit out their dinner (always take your other stacks first!)
This jumper was a chill hanger. You just gotta burst away and hope you get a good shot!

Watch closely. This spiny orb weaver is tending to her web, carefully managing the silk threads that form her hunting trap.
I have seen a few comments suggesting this might be a crab spider, but that is not correct.
Orb weavers build intricate capture webs designed to intercept flying insects. Every strand is produced by the spider and maintained constantly. The web is both a trap and a vibration sensor that tells the spider when prey has arrived.
Crab spiders hunt in a completely different way. They do not build capture webs. Instead they rely on ambush, waiting motionless on flowers or leaves before seizing visiting insects with their powerful front legs.
