We were laying there, relaxing… and she just kept coming back. Quietly sweeping the sand from our feet, our chairs and our table! Never asking for anything. Never expecting anything. Just doing her job. But what stayed with us wasn’t what she was doing… it was how she was doing it. She had the biggest smile on her face the entire time. So warm. So kind. And she absolutely adored the kids… stopping to chat, laugh, and make them feel so special. There was this lightness about her… even while working, in the heat, all day long. And it made us stop and think. How can someone give so much warmth… with so little? We couldn’t just get up and leave like it was nothing. So we made sure to give her something back… not just a tip, but enough to help her, to feed her family, and to give her a little bit of ease and safety for a while. It didn’t feel like generosity… it felt like the bare minimum. Because sometimes the people who have the least… are the ones who give the most.
