Februar 1916 #thisdayinhistory um 7:15 Uhr mit Angriffen deutscher Stoßtrupps auf die zahlreichen Forts im Festungsgürtel rund um Verdun. Er sollte entweder einen Durchbruch ermöglichen oder aber den Kriegswillen der Franzosen brechen. 🇫🇷 ✠ Trotz starker Artillerieunterstützung von mehr als 1.200 Geschützen kam der Vormarsch deutlich langsamer voran als erwartet.
