๐Ÿ‚ Halloween New England took a stroll through Old Wethersfield, CT, for a little autumn exploring at Scarecrows Along Main! ๐Ÿ Find event details at HalloweenNewEngland.com - link in BIO More than 170 handmade scarecrows were scattered along Main Street, each bringing its own personality to the historic town. From playful characters to imaginative seasonal creations, there was plenty to look at as we wandered past the displays and took in the charming streetscape. It was the kind of relaxing stroll where weโ€™d keep spotting yet another delightful scarecrow display tucked into all kinds of unexpected spaces and rooftops along the road! Part of the fun was taking in the scarecrows alongside everything else Old Wethersfield has to offer, with its plentiful historic buildings, local shops, and inviting spots to stop along the way. The displays gave our walk a festive fall twist while letting us explore this picturesque CT town that shows off its New England-y vibes in spades. Last weekend we had dinner at The Charles in Wethersfield! Nestled right in Old Wethersfield Village, the building where The Charles resides was originally built in 1790 by Elijah Wright, who was a militia captain in the Revolutionary War! Old Wethersfield village looks like the perfect setting for a Hallmark movie. The Charles opened itโ€™s doors in 2020, and has been getting a lot of recognition since. I now understand why this place is so critically acclaimed. Everything we got was delicious, and had so much flavor. Also, itโ€™s so beautifully decorated for the holidays.
