Special thanks to @ericmwind for inspiring and informing so much of this project. As enthusiasts, Minerva is a name that has always loomed large for us. For over 100 years, the brand has been renowned for its precision chronographs and stopwatches. And for much of that history, it was one of Switzerland’s only brands to produce chronographs in-house. let me tell you my story—one wrist, four icons, and a quiet kind of luxury that time can’t touch (well, my imagined one.) did they pass them down, forget them in a drawer, wear them every day until the gold softened and the memories thickened? 1️⃣ Piaget Polo Ref 15562, 1979 a seamless wave of 18k yellow & white gold. this was bought by the kind of man who played tennis at hôtel du cap, wore cologne that lingered in the backseat, and never checked the time—because everyone waited for him. 2️⃣ Rolex Midas with Coral Dial Ref 4314, 1970s designed by Genta, need we say more… she was a new york gallerist with a velvet voice and a rolodex that could get you into any party. the coral dial matched her lipstick, always. 3️⃣ Patek Philippe Ref. 3491/3, 1970s understated gold elegance. it sat under the cuff of a discreet billionaire who built empires quietly, preferred handwritten notes, and once gifted someone a vineyard instead of a thank-you card. 4️⃣ Cartier Tank Normale Ref 78092, late 70s–early 80s paris-signed, unpolished, with a brick bracelet. owned by a left bank intellectual who never missed a bookshop opening, believed in love at first sight, and wore it every day with her perfectly wrinkled white shirt. which one’s your favourite character? —————— all available from @ericmwind #wristromance #watchgirlies #vintagewatches #timecapsule #70sstyle #goldwatches #watchesofinstagram #windvintage

Sold by the master, @ericmwind, this particular DRSD has sharp 🔪 chamfers and a icy blue ghosted 👻 bezel. Fun visit the @windvintage team yesterday. The 2 gorgeous Heuers were on offer, along with 20 other curated knockouts. The bloke wandering aimlessly once said “I’d take a bullet for that guy”. He had a chance! After all he’s been through he still managed to fasten a solid YG AP Royal Oak Chronograph to his wrist. So I guess he’s gonna be ok. Shout out to the ladies in the white spider veloce. Likely the last of its kind and appeared to have about 500 miles on it. I gotta say I liked it then, and I like it now at about 30yrs old. (The car not me)
