Most governments say don’t travel to Myanmar right now… but I still went.😂 I visited Yangon and Mandalay and honestly, I was surprised. It felt calm. People were just living their lives. Everything I saw felt peaceful, full of beauty and everyday moments. I know the situation is complex, and this is just my experience. But it made me realise if I had only followed the warnings without question, I would’ve missed all of this. Travel isn’t always black and white. When it rains in Yangon….. it really rains. The sky opens up and doesn’t close for days — clothes won’t dry, streets flood, and the air is heavy with that sticky, humid breath. But then... right after the downpour, everything feels still. The heat lifts, the air cools, and for a moment, it feels like the city can breathe again.
