#yinyoga #yogateacher #sistemanervoso #consapevolezza
Sometimes the most powerful part of a forward fold is when you stop trying to go further. 🌿 Here I’m using blocks, a bolster and a strap to create enough support that I can actually rest. My target area is the back body, especially the tissues along the back of the legs and around the spine. 🌿 In the body With my head and upper body supported, I don’t have to keep pulling myself forward. Over time, I may notice less gripping through the hamstrings and back, while the weight of my head and shoulders can gradually settle into the support. 🌿 In the nervous system Support changes the experience. Instead of constantly asking, “Can I go deeper?”, I can begin noticing: Can I soften my jaw? Can I relax my shoulders? Can I let my breath become quieter? This is where Yin shifts from doing into sensing. 🌿 In the meridians In Traditional Chinese Medicine, forward-folding Yin poses are often associated with the Urinary Bladder meridian, which runs along the back body and down the backs of the legs. ✨ How to approach the pose Allow your breath to slow down. Relax your jaw and shoulders. Let the bolster, blocks and strap hold you. There’s nothing to pull or achieve here. And remember, straight legs are NOT the goal. In Functional Yin Yoga, I’m interested in the target area, not whether your pose looks like mine. Bend your knees, sit higher, add more support, or choose another variation if that works better for your body. The pose should adapt to your body, not the other way around. 💙 Comment RESET and I’ll send you my FREE Open Body Starter Series. 🌿 #yinyoga #functionalyoga #forwardfold #meridians #healthyaging
#yinyoga #yogaitalia #yogapractice #yogaforrelaxation
I LOVE sequencing a Yin practice around my props rather than constantly moving everything around between poses 🤍 This is one of those set yourself up, get cosy and stay there kind of practices. All you need is: ✨ 1 yoga bolster ✨ 2 yoga blocks And from there, the props barely move. The flow: ✨ Reclined Half Butterfly - each side ✨ Full Reclined Butterfly ✨ Supported Sphinx ✨ Child’s Pose ✨ Dragonfly ✨ Reclined Figure 4 - each side ✨ Elevated Easy Pose - each side ✨ Legs Up the Bolster Savasana (my personal fave) For a shorter 30-minute practice, hold each shape for around 2–3 minutes. Or, for a deliciously slow 60-minute practice, stay for around 5 minutes per pose and give yourself a proper 10-minute Savasana at the end 🤍 This one gives you a lovely mix of hip opening, gentle spinal extension, forward folding, supported stillness and plenty of time to let the body settle without constantly breaking the mood to rearrange everything. Perfect for evenings, rainy days, tired days or those moments when you want a proper Yin practice but absolutely cannot be bothered with prop admin 💤 Save this one to come back to whenever you need. #yinyoga #yinflow #slowmovement #restorativeyoga #mindfulmovement
I stayed here for 3 minutes. And this is what I noticed ↓ At first, I could feel how much tension I was holding in my hips and lower back. But as I stayed still and stopped trying to do anything, my breathing became slower, my body softened and my mind became quieter. That’s one of the things I love about Yin — sometimes the shift comes from staying, not doing more. Turtle Pose can create a deep opening through the hips and lower back, while the stillness and slower breathing can support a more regulated, restful state. Energetically, it’s an inward-facing pose — a chance to turn your attention away from everything happening around you and back towards yourself. Try it for 2–3 minutes, with plenty of support. No forcing, no pushing deeper. Just enough time to notice what changes. And if Turtle doesn’t feel right for your body, choose a gentler variation. 🤍 Small practices. No pressure. More coming this week. / Maria 🌿 Follow @yogini_ia for more 💗 #turtlepose #yinyoga #nervoussystemregulation #hiprelease #lowbackrelease
Right at the base of your skull sits a small but mighty muscle group — the suboccipitals. They’re one of the first places we hold tension when we’re stressed, scrolling, or stuck scanning for threats that aren’t there. These muscles sit close to the brainstem and vagus nerve, so releasing them can help cue your nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into rest & digest. Grab a myoball, place it just below the skull on either side of your spine, and let the weight of your head do the work. Breathe. Stay for a few minutes. Let go of what you don’t need to hold onto today. Save this for the next time you feel stressed and tensed around your neck. 🌸 #myofascialrelease #suboccipitals #tensionrelease #necktension #yinyoga
Plein d’amour #fascia #yin #yinyoga #mtc

This isn’t about stretching further. It’s about creating the conditions to soften. In this supported prone frog variation, the bolsters support much of your body weight, allowing the front of the hips, belly, chest, shoulders and neck to gradually let go without force. As your body feels more supported, you may notice your breathing become slower, your jaw softens, and tension you didn’t realise you were holding begin to melt away. There’s nowhere to get to here. Simply settle in, breathe naturally, and if it feels comfortable for your body, stay for 5-10 minutes. 💛 Save this for later, and if you try it, I’d love to hear what changed for you after 10 minutes.
