1. Your first job doesn’t define you. It’s just your starting line. Learn everything you can but don’t be afraid to pivot if your goals start to change. 2. Networking matters way more than you think. My step dad always told me “it’s not what you know but who you know”. Opportunities don’t always go to the most talented, they often go to the most connected. Build relationships early. 3. Money is important, but so is peace. Chasing a higher paycheck isn’t worth it if it costs you your health, relationships, or purpose. 4. Never stop investing in yourself outside of work. Your career is just one part of your life. Learn to develop your skills, passions, and most importantly your faith too. 5. God’s timing is better than your timing. Some doors will stay closed longer than you want, but when they open they’ll be better than anything you could’ve forced on your own. I’m only 3 years in, but these are the things I would tell myself if I were just starting out.
