A proud moment for Tampa City Ballet! ❤️ Last week, we had the honor of presenting Tampa City Ballet’s vision for the future before Tampa City Council. We are incredibly grateful to the council members for their kind words, encouragement, and recognition of the work we are doing to bring professional dance to our city. We are excited for what lies ahead and grateful to have the support of our city as we continue to grow! 🎥 This is just a small part of our presentation. Happy World Ballet Day from Tampa City Ballet. 🩰 Since 2018, we’ve had the privilege of bringing ballet to life in new ways, sharing stories, creating opportunities for artists, and bringing our community together through dance. None of it would be possible without the patrons who fill our audiences, the donors who believe in our mission, and the sponsors and community partners who continue to invest in what we do. Today, we celebrate ballet, our incredible artists, and every person who has helped Tampa City Ballet continue to grow, create, and make dance accessible throughout Tampa Bay. Thank you for being part of our story. ❤️ by @tampacityballet_
Building a career in dance once meant leaving Tampa for many local performers. Paula Nuñez wanted to give them a reason to stay. She launched Tampa City Ballet’s professional company in 2018, creating opportunities for dancers to train, perform and build their careers close to home. Today, they’re also bringing Tampa’s stories to the stage through productions like La Séptima, inspired by the history of Tampa and Ybor City. 🩰 Meet the founder and dancers helping grow our local arts scene, and discover the work behind the performances. Last night, LA SÉPTIMA took its final bow. ❤️ We closed this journey with LA SÉPTIMA: THE SALON, a sold out inaugural performance as Company in Residence at University of South Florida. This special occasion also marked a new chapter for USF’s TAR 130, welcoming a theatrical performance back to a space that has been without one for more than 20 years!! From the first performance to the final curtain, LA SÉPTIMA has been more than a production. It has been a celebration of a new era for artists and communities who helped shape Tampa, and an exploration of how dance can keep their stories alive. Thank you USF Professor Kevin Yelvington, @noelsmith603, Professor Santiago Echeverry, Cornelio Aguilera, and every artist, collaborator, supporter and audience member who took this journey through Ybor with us. Thank you to @susannenielsen7190 for capturing these moments. Every city has a story. This is ours. ❤️ by @tampacityballet_

Tampa Mayor @janecastor shares her experience of LA SÉPTIMA and the importance of telling Tampa’s story through art, history, and culture. We extend our deepest gratitude to Mayor Castor for lending her voice to LA SÉPTIMA and for championing the stories, people, and cultural legacy that make Tampa who we are. Her support is a meaningful reminder of why preserving and sharing our city’s history matters. There’s one final opportunity to experience LA SÉPTIMA: THE SALON at USF on October 17. Always an honor to have Tampa City Council Chairman @alanclendenin with us, one of Tampa City Ballet’s greatest champions and a longtime supporter of our work and the arts in our city. We were also so glad to welcome our friend Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera to LA SEPTIMA. Grateful to have city leaders who continue to show up for Tampa’s arts community. ❤️ by @tampacityballet_
Amazing time at the Tampa City Ballet production of La Septima at the Cuban Club tonight. The performers were amazing. Mayor Jane Castor was on hand with many, many other good people. Like I have expressed before, this is an amazing effort by writer and choreographer Paula Nunez @nunezpaula1003 . The very year that she came here was a refugee fleeing communism in Venezuela, Paula began this effort. It’s a wonderful example of the contributions of immigrants to our great country. 🇻🇪🇺🇸❤️ Amazing job by the performers at @tampacityballet_ and everyone involved. by @tampacityballet_
