I had an incredible time at the first inaugural NinjaTrader Summit! Thank you @ninjatraderlive for having me on as a speaker!

Participation in futures trading is growing rapidly, and it’s exciting to be a part of it. After connecting with so many sharp minds in the industry, I’m leaving the summit invigorated and inspired to go further in my career. Beyond that, I feel genuinely supported by the veterans that care so deeply about next generation of traders. by @tanjatrades

Years of staring at charts on a laptop screen, and then you walk onto the floor where it all actually happens. Full circle. by @tanjatrades

IT AINT THAT SERIOUS WE GOT TOMORROW 💪

This is how I deal with a rough day. It’s part of the business 🥂 by @tanjatrades

If you actually want to succeed in trading, you need to tap into your emotions.
Logic alone does not change behavior. Emotions do.
Nobody quits smoking because someone listed facts at them. They quit because they want to be there for their future grandchildren.
So who are you trading for? Your family, your future family, or your younger self who needs proof you can do this?
That emotion gets you to your goals faster, keeps you on your rules, and carries you through the bad days. Put their picture on your desk.

work smarter not harder

the hack to getting payouts is locking yourself out.
seriously. the longer you’re in the market, the more risk you’re exposing yourself to. and if you struggle with overtrading like me, that turns into revenge trading real fast, after a good session or a bad one.

turn on the lockout feature. then go enjoy the rest of your day.
sometimes the best trade is no trade

When price action is so choppy you can scan the barcode 😭 by @tanjatrades

Reward the process, not just the P&L.

One of my process-based goals: leave the screens at 11:30am so I don’t get caught in lunchtime chop and overtrade. I track it with green checkmarks, and if I hit 90% completion by the end of the month, I reward myself.

What are your process-based goals? Drop them in the comments and hold yourself accountable. I’ll be reading them.

Know when to pump the brakes.

Today being the day before FOMC, I was super cautious. I wanted one trade, not a full day of trading. The more I traded, the more risk I would be exposed to.

Short MES at 7733.50, out at 7724.25. I did not hold it for a home run. I just took what it gave me.

I share my weekly prep every single week in my newsletter.

Bad day? Do not carry it into tomorrow.
Here are 5 ways I calm my nervous system after a difficult trading day:
1. Put things in perspective. Will this matter in a week? In a year?
2. Brain dump. Write it all out for 10 minutes, ideally 3 days in a row.
3. Talk to a friend who gets it, and who will also help you see the bigger picture.
4. Go for a walk in nature.
5. Stay away from screens for a few hours and let your brain actually process it.
Save this for your next red day. by @tanjatrades

Welcome to the Tanja Push-up Challenge: take a loss, take 10 pushups.

Sometimes trading can make you feel paranoid that the market makers are watching.

No trading gains this day, but I got THESE gains.

What is your loss punishment?
