We don’t need the temple, the flowers, the candles or the spectacle of these events (even though we love it). Joy is simple. The peaceful place we all long for exists now; within us. We can’t wait for things to be perfect… for the world to be better, or for us to be healthier…It’s here now. That being said; this was an epic night together in our community. There is a palpable shift in these gatherings, as we slowly grow… While the world grows more wild, we grow stronger in our connection to the power behind it all. Thank you to @the_theresa_way for leading us from the heart. Thank you @沙金 and @PING for the beautiful music. Thank you @北京隆福寺 for giving us this space again. And thank you Fansheng Yoga, @clesign_official , and @just.be.cha — always there for us. Happy to report we are going back again soon, who wants to join us? by @taozi.tree.yoga
Let me explain. @taozi.tree.yoga has a simple mission. To help people feel good, so they do good. When we live in the heart of the capital city of China… I know the ripple effects make a difference. Our current YTT group is 16 native Chinese and 2 foreigners. This is a HUGE change for us. It’s positive. It means that how we are serving this city matters. I am grateful to my core. ❤️ #yogateacher #inspiration #wellness #positive #global #peace Thank you @rongkunzhao for teaching with us. 🫶🏼 by @taozi.tree.yoga
1. It is NOT a program to fix you—because you are not broken. We WILL help you remember this truth. Most students who come to our Yoga Teacher Training are longing for deep change or healing. But here’s the reality: you are already whole, already connected. You don’t need 1,000 sun salutations or 100 hours of meditation to “get somewhere.” You are already there. Our work is simply to remove what’s blocking you from remembering this. 2. It is NOT a cookie-cutter, corporate program to get you “good at yoga asana.” We WILL curate a unique experience to help you find clarity and peace within. From day one, we ask students to reflect on their life mission—what we call Sankalpa—because we believe your reason for being here is deeply tied to your dharma and life purpose. Our program integrates all the traditional tools of yoga: asana, pranayama, meditation, mantra, and self-inquiry. Through this, students gain profound self-awareness and confidence, supported by consistent, grounded practice. The results speak for themselves. 3. It is NOT a “one path fits all” system claiming to be the only way. We WILL help you discover the many paths of yoga—and find your own. While some programs insist on a single “authentic” style, we believe the only authentic yoga is the one that resonates in your heart. Theresa, a master’s student in Yoga Studies, teaches that yoga has always been contextual. When we are truly connected, it’s all yoga. Our training draws from ancient Indian traditions and integrates modern science to help you find YOUR way. 4. We will NOT disappear after graduation. We WILL continue to support you long after the training ends. Yes, 30-day retreats in Bali or India are beautiful (we’ve done them!), but when they’re over, students often struggle to find community or opportunities to grow. Our Seeds to Tree program is designed to support your teaching journey from day one. New grads are mentored and immediately invited to teach as “Seed” teachers, gradually growing into leadership roles—including leading citywide events. It’s real, sustained support. Continued in comments… by @taozi.tree.yoga
Please read sub titles! This is dubbed in Chinese for my students here… The point is valid… Understanding authenticity in practice is such a difficult journey. There are so many tools and practices out there. We come to know what’s real through the experience that emanates from the practices themselves. There’s a difference between tapping into a practice and swimming in it. When we swim in it, everything becomes the practice. This might come at a later stage—after the novelty of discovering the practice that worked for me, when we begin to see that what works for everyone else is valid too. When we see through the kaleidoscope of yogic development, there has always been source—and learning to connect to it, to find it within and without. A never-ending journey. #yoga #yogateacher #authenticyoga #meditation by @taozi.tree.yoga

The longer I practice, the less willing I am to offer a simple answer. With a history spanning thousands of years, yoga is difficult to capture in a single definition. So, in 2026, why do we practice yoga? I like to believe that practice can connect us with the source of who we are, while strengthening our capacity to love, understand, listen, and forgive—to make the world a little better. This is also what we hope to create together at Taozi Tree Yoga: a community where people feel welcome, connect authentically, and support one another. Here, everyone steps onto the mat with different experiences. Through a shared practice, we gradually come to know ourselves and understand one another. Sometimes, that connection is a conversation after class. It is someone remembering your name. It is knowing that even on a difficult day, you can still come as you are. After looking inward, we also need to turn toward one another. May the awareness we cultivate on the mat become attentive listening in daily life. May the patience we find in our breath become understanding in our relationships. And may the support we receive through practice extend to those around us. #yoga #yogateacher #yogateachertraining #wisdom Today’s question for you: What does yoga mean to you? 🌱 by @taozi.tree.yoga

This Sunday, October 25: Ayurvedic Foundations Workshop with Catalina During yoga practice, we pay attention to our bodies and breath. Off the mat, that same awareness can extend to our meals, daily rhythms, and how we care for ourselves. Often called yoga’s “sister science,” Ayurveda offers a traditional perspective on everyday life, inviting us to explore our habits and needs with curiosity. Join Catalina on October 25 for an Ayurvedic Foundations Workshop, exploring: 🌿 The five elements: Understand Ayurveda’s foundational concepts 🌿 The three doshas: Discover the three mind-body types described in this tradition 🌿 Digestion and food: Explore our relationship with what we eat 🌿 Daily habits: Bring self-care into everyday life Learning yoga happens on the mat—and in the small choices we make each day. If you’d like to explore further, Ayurveda is also part of Taozi Tree Yoga’s 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training, where we deepen our understanding of its connection with yoga practice. 🕒 Autumn Weekday YTT: Starts November 16, 2026 🕐 Winter Weekend YTT: Starts November 21, 2026 18 days of exploration. 200 hours of learning and growth. We look forward to sharing this journey with you. #yoga #ayurveda #yogateachertraining #yogabeijing by @taozi.tree.yoga

October 18th, Backbending Workshop: Deep Core Integration with Apple Many people see backbending as“opening the chest”or“becoming more flexible.” But a safe and meaningful backbend is never about pushing for a deeper shape. In the Element of Light, we explore inner awareness — listening to the body, the breath, and the balance between strength and space. With Apple, we will explore: ✨ Building support through deep core engagement ✨ Creating length in the spine instead of compression ✨ Distributing the curve throughout the whole body ✨ Understanding the connection between pelvis, hips, shoulders, and breath Through poses like Locust Pose, Bow Pose, and Camel Pose, we’ll discover the deeper intelligence behind backbending. Backbending is not about going further back.It is about creating openness with stability, and freedom with awareness. Workshop Info 📍 Taozi Tree Yoga Sanlitun Studio 🕒 Oct 18, 2026 | @appleluohaiyun 1:30–4:30 PM 👩‍🏫 Teacher: Apple 💰 ¥280/person or 2 regular class credits Join Apple and explore more space within your body and your practice. ✨ #yoga #beijing #yogateacher #yogateachertraining #vinyasa by @taozi.tree.yoga
