Eileen Dietz (Pazuzu in The Exorcist) signing my talking Captain Howdy doll at New Jersey Horror Con. Such a sweet woman. Greatest horror movie of all time! The doll is by Coffin Creeps.

Piggy D. in Bethlehem, PA! He's the freaking best. 🦇🤘🖤

I was a little stressed before the show, because I blew out a tire on the drive down and wasn't sure I'd make it. After stopping to get a new tire, I somehow still managed to get a good spot near the front, and I got his last guitar pick of the night. It hit me right in the chest. Nice addition for my collection. I have more of his picks than any other musician on the planet. Love collecting them. Meaningful to me.

Marilyn Manson was amazing. Blown away by how good it sounded. I had a great time, the people around me were nice, and everything somehow freaking worked out. I should've bought a ticket to the upcoming Philly show. It's not too late. Lol. 🤔

“I'd walk rather quickly before something finds you,” the actor says.

The door slammed shut. I took one step.

Too slow.

A vicious, snarling zombie appeared from the darkness almost immediately, crowding me as I made my way down the path.

The word on the street is that Warner Bros. is moving forward with a remake of Them!, the 1954 science-fiction classic about giant, irradiated ants terrorizing the New Mexico desert.

My immediate reaction? A groan.

Why touch it?

The original is a terrific example of B-movie filmmaking. It took a ridiculous premise and turned it into an entertaining, surprisingly suspenseful picture. It didn't need a massive budget or an army of digital effects to get the job done. It had a good story, a capable cast and a healthy understanding of what makes a monster movie fun.

Trivia: Jason Miller, of Scranton, Pa., was a diehard Notre Dame fan who ended his conversations with, "Go Irish!" ☘️ Can't believe it's been 25 years since he's been gone.

Knowing he was such a fan, it was awesome to see him play Coach Ara Parseghian in Rudy. Anyway, you know he would've been rooting for Notre Dame to slap around Miami this weekend. GO IRISH! ☘️🏈 Beat Miami!

I was happy to pick up some old issues of Chiller Theatre Magazine this past weekend. I love reading these publications. There's so much to be said about zines like this and their impact on horror, which I think will be the topic of another post. They’re treasures, and maybe even a lost art.

Anyway, the issue with Vincent Price on it (second photo) contains this fun bit - a letter from Johnny Ramone! He loved Chiller. So cool!

Go Irish! ☘️🏈 My schedule is cleared for next Saturday night. I'm not doing a darn thing except watching Notre Dame.
