Have extra basil in your garden? This is one of my favorite and easiest ways to use it. Homemade basil salt! This diy recipe for basil salt is so easy and it gives extra flavor to any dish you use it in. I love sprinkling it on my fried green tomatoes! Another homemade gift in the books!

The hardest part of gardening might be knowing when it’s time to let a season go. 🥹🌸 My summer zinnias gave me SO many beautiful blooms, but now it’s time to clear the bed and make room for my fall and spring flowers. I’m already excited about what’s going in here next!

Happy Autumn🍂 It’s the first day of fall and my favorite time of year. Cooler temps, leaves changing colors, and every little excuse to make the house feel cozy. I’ve had so much fun decorating for autumn, and I’m ready to enjoy every minute of it. 🤎🍁

Garden Bed #4 is planted! 🌱🤎

This one is all about spring! I planted Purple Sensation allium bulbs with sweet alyssum around the edges, and I can already picture those big purple blooms popping up next year. 💜

It’s exciting planting something now and imagining what it’ll become.

Are you planting anything this fall for spring blooms? 🌸

There’s just something about old-fashioned Christmas decorations that I love. 🍊🤎

I dried oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit to create these beautiful, rustic citrus slices. I love their warm, vintage look!

And the best part? The decorating hasn’t even started yet! ✨

Would you use dried citrus in your Christmas decor?

Well, y’all… the loofah saga continues! 😂🌿

After my oven hack went terribly wrong, my husband tried to rescue what was left. Bless his heart… things got even worse! 🤣

But I was determined to get SOMETHING out of that loofah!

After all that cutting, trimming, and rinsing, I finally ended up with TWO tiny sponges. TWO! 😂

And can we talk about that tough core inside?! I had absolutely no idea!

I’m growing my own loofahs next year, and you better believe I’ll be doing things differently! 🌱

Have you ever grown or made your own loofah sponge?

Can you REALLY turn a green loofah into a sponge using an oven hack? 👀🌿

A garden friend gifted me a loofah that hadn’t fully matured on the vine, and I was determined to turn it into a natural sponge! 😂

So I’m after watching a tutorial, I dried it in the oven at 200°F for 2 hours, hoping after the skin turned brown, it would peel right off and reveal a beautiful loofah sponge.

Well… let’s just say things didn’t exactly go according to plan! 🤦‍♀️😂

I’m growing my own loofah gourds next year, and one thing I’ve learned is that patience might be the most important ingredient! 🌱

Have you ever grown loofah or made your own loofah sponges? What advice would you give a first-timer? 👇🤎

A Christmas tree made from pampas grass?! 🎄🤎

I’m turning pampas grass from my own backyard garden into a whimsical DIY Christmas tree, and I have absolutely no idea if this is going to work! 😂

The plumes are dried, fluffed, and ready. Now comes the fun part… figuring out how to turn them into a Christmas tree!

I love finding creative ways to bring a little garden magic into my home. ✨

Would you try this, or have I completely lost my mind? 😂

Follow along for the Christmas tree reveal! 🤎

Bringing my tropical plants indoors for fall and winter… and apparently, I had a little stowaway! 🐸🌿

Every fall, I move my outdoor houseplants inside to protect them from the colder temperatures here in Georgia. But before bringing plants indoors, it’s always a good idea to check for unexpected visitors!

This little tree frog definitely surprised me! 😂

Have you ever found a surprise guest hiding in your plants? Tell me I’m not the only one. Tell me what you found! 🤎🐸

Another beautiful Aug-tober day over here, and with it, another experiment from 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭!

Have you ever tried drying tomatoes … 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘯!?

Thank you to @tarainherera for this amazing tip – just sprinkle tomatoes with coarse salt and dried oregano, and somehow nothing goes near them while they catch some rays!

Seriously, we’re on day two without so much as a nibble from any bugs, including the voracious slugs which abound. Even our troublemaking birds have stayed away!

Swipe to see the full breakdown of what to do, and better still, show @tarainherera some love for taking it to the oldest of old school here! ☀️😎🍅

Garden Bed 3 is officially planted, and my little backyard garden is slowly coming together!

This raised garden bed is filled with fall favorites, including collard greens, lettuce I started from seed, cilantro, dill, and a few flowers to make it extra pretty. 🌼

There’s something so satisfying about turning an empty space into a place where something beautiful can grow.

I’m learning, planting, and creating my dream backyard garden one bed at a time.

🌿 Are you growing anything in your fall garden this year?

A little piece of my garden became part of something beautiful… 🌿🤎

I’m so excited to share that I was invited to contribute to The Collective Harvest: 101 Notes From the Garden, a beautiful collection of gardening inspiration, garden-to-table recipes, and creative ideas from a wonderful community of gardeners!

I contributed two of my favorite ways to use the harvest — homemade basil salt and sun-dried tomatoes. 🍅 And seeing my basil salt featured as the very first note made this experience even sweeter!

But what makes this collection so special isn’t just the recipes. It’s the talented women sharing their knowledge, creativity, and love for growing things.

From the garden to the kitchen and all the beautiful little moments in between, this is exactly the kind of inspiration I love sharing here.

And the best part? The entire collection is FREE! 🌼

Head to the pinned comment for the link to grab your copy. I hope you find something that inspires you to grow, create, or try something new.

A special thank-you to @urbanharvestcollective for inviting me to be part of this beautiful project!

Tell me, do you enjoy growing things more, or finding creative ways to use what you’ve grown?
