✨ It’s Christmas! Eat the cookies, enjoy the chaos, and may all your wishes come true 🎄😄

Husky Christmas out now on Prime video…
Ambitious but burned-out marketing exec Olivia starts early-morning walks with her spirited Shih Tzu, Milo, hoping to clear her mind. Across the park, solitary novelist Theo and his free-spirited Husky, Lucy, keep to themselves-until a tangle of leashes brings the four together. As Milo and Lucy’s puppy love blooms, Olivia and Theo’s guarded hearts follow, leading to comic mishaps, sweet surprises, and the reminder that the right companion-two-legged or four-can change everything.

🏆 Best Feature Film 🏆

Feature films are the heart of any festival — the culmination of years of vision, resilience, and collaboration. They carry us on longer journeys, immersing us in stories that make us laugh, cry, think, and feel in ways only cinema can. This award celebrates the filmmakers who take on the enormous challenge of creating a feature-length work and, against all odds, bring their stories to life.

🎥 Honourable Mention
Gaff directed by Mitchell Ronald

🎬 Finalists

- The Spin directed by Michael Head
- Reputation directed by Martin Law
- The Haunting at Jack the Ripper’s House directed by Natasha Tosini and Stephen Staley

🥇 Winner 🥇

Warlord directed by @stubrennanactor

This year’s Feature Film category was nothing short of exceptional. The Spin charmed audiences with its sharp wit and comedic flair, Reputation gripped us with raw intensity, and The Haunting at Jack the Ripper’s House delivered spine-tingling thrills that lingered long after the credits rolled.

When it came down to the judging, the difference between our winner, finalists, and honourable mention Gaff was decided by decimal places. A huge congratulations to the Gaff team — to be competing head-to-head with these incredible features is an achievement in itself. If this had been a boxing match, Gaff went the full 12 rounds with everyone, and our judges had one of their toughest calls of the festival to agree on the finalists and the ultimate winner.

In the end, Warlord emerged victorious, securing yet another award at this year’s festival. Congratulations to the entire team for their remarkable achievement!

💖 A heartfelt thank you to Breast Friends and Family for sponsoring this category. Their continued support of WLFF helps us give filmmakers a platform to shine and ensures feature films remain a celebrated part of our programme.

📢 Submissions now open for 2026!
The official window opened on July 30th and will close on December 31st. We can’t wait to see the stories you’ll share with us next year. Submit your work here: 👉 www.filmfreeway.com/westlothianff
