💜💜 Hexahedron Holds 🔥🔥 These took a long time to make... The commission was my most detailed and challenging to date, without doubt! Creating these holds took a lot of patience, accuracy, checking and rechecking. The usual measure twice cut once turned into measure 10 times, find the other calipers, see if they agree with the first set, check the blade, sharpen or change the blade and after a few rounds of this cut once, very carefully. I knew they would never be 'perfect' and the pattern would never 100% align, I had to balance the perfect glueing surface with the perfect pattern profile on each step. I shot for small tolerance for then pattern and ZERO gaps or defects in the glue-up process. Structual integrity needed to be spot on and every glue joint perfect. So all the joints are crispy clean and the pattern has some tiny flaws in its alignment. A good lesson in patience, trade off and knowing that you can't win them all! They are already in use on the new owners home wall and I've filmed the process so a new YT video coming soon on that! 👀 I feel really lucky to have clients like this, pushing my skills as a maker, shaper and woodworker. 🙏 Let me know what you think ⬇️ by @taylormadeholds

've been doing some more hold research out in Greece 🇬🇷 Drainpipe tufas, blobs and jugs everywhere! One week in Kalymnos has ended, now off to Leonidio with @lenadrapella for some more steep sport routes. Thanks for the wait on holds everyone! And thanks to @kieranjduncan for the photos! by @taylormadeholds
New stock up on the website now! Enjoy 😁 by @taylormadeholds
Yma o Hyd E10 7a (8c) & Pwmpty E9 7a (8b) Some of the very best N.Wales has to offer. There have been really good scenes up on Gallt Yr Ogof this summer. It was a privilege to climb Yma on the same day as @hazel_findlay and @tompearce63 Special thanks to Hazel for sharing the process of working and sending together 🙏 Yma o Hyd translates to 'still here', which has meant a lot of things to different people, both nationally and in the Welsh climbing scene. I'm glad some of my friends are 'still here' after a rough winter ❤️ The name Pwmpty comes from the parties put on by Caff who FA'd both routes. Legend. I'm now off Sailing to Greenland to go big wall climbing all summer. I am not sure the brutal steepness of these routes will have prepared me well for slabs, corners and cracks on chossy granite but I'll make do. Birthday trip up the Grand Capucin with @alex_jr_hall Sorry if anyone's orders have been a few days late. This is why. I hope you understand. Got to be done. Besides, researching holds is part of my job, so I have to regularly take time to go fondle the holds of the world's best routes. It's a tough life, but someone's got to do it! by @taylormadeholds
Day 5 - Overlapping circles The base lamination worked! We have lift off! Time to crack on, get them all glued to their bases and get some holds made! by @taylormadeholds
Day 5 - Overlapping circles Run into some problems when cleaning things up but I think there is a simple solution. There is no issues with the structural integrity of the material (the glue is stronger than wood) its just a case of tidying up minor imperfections and making it all look neat. Psyched to start actually doing some hold shaping now! #woodenclimbingholds by @taylormadeholds
Day 4 - Overlapping circles Any cool ideas for wood combos or circle/bubble designs, please comment and let me know ⬇️ Im starting to realise the amount of work that's going to have to be done for these to look how I want them to, but things are starting to take shape! Rince and Repeat - trust the process! Psyched on these themed boards now too! #woodworking #woodenclimbingholds #climbing #climbingholds by @taylormadeholds
Day 3 - overlapping circles Things are starting to look like something I can make holds out of! Plenty of glue seems to be the trick here, im learning the order of everything and which sizes look good overlapping eachother and how to fill the space efficiently. I underestimated the number of plugs I need so back to cutting more today and another round of holes and plugs in this set! Onwards! #woodworking #woodenclimbingholds by @taylormadeholds
