Hopped out the car downtown for this one. One thing I love about the city of Baltimore is that in the midst of slander and negative stories, the reality continues to show its face. This city is a city of love, respect, creativity and honoring others with dignity. This man has been living downtown for a MINUTE. Over the last few hot weeks I’ve watched people give him water and food. Today, while driving by, I saw @chegeblends giving him a cut. For the record…bro can cut fr. I hopped out the car to grab this pic because these are the stories the city needs to elevate. Bro 18, headed to Morgan next year and showing love to a population that many of us have forgotten about. Reminder…show love to someone today. taken in Baltimore, Maryland by @tchincreates

The last day of AFRAM @baltimore_afram was packed with legendary performances on both stages, but one of the highlights for me was documenting the performance of @pjmorton.
As a photographer, there are moments that feel bigger than just taking pictures. This was one of them. Watching a true musical genius command the stage and capture the crowd’s attention was something special to witness through the lens.
Some performances entertain. Others feel like history.

One thing I’m really working on right now is details.
As a storyteller, I’m learning that it’s not always the obvious big moments that matter most. Sometimes it’s the quiet smile, the hands, the reactions, the small in-between moments that complete the story.
Focusing on details is training my eye to slow down, observe more intentionally, and anticipate moments before they happen. Right now I’m growing in patience, observation, and storytelling.
