Me: So, if I start my own theatre company... what should I do? I want to bring something different to the community.

Rich: Well... you could do Lucy.

And I did. I mean, what are you supposed to do when your mother names you after the most famous and influential comedienne of all time?

Transforming into the world of "A Tribute to the Ricardos" over the last 3 years with this fella and a wonderful stage team has been pure joy.

Thank you, Rich, for knowing me so well...

"Okay, Buster!" 📺❤️

A few years ago, I was sitting on a Zoom call with @richgoteri, my mentor, my teacher, and my friend, discussing my displeasure with my creative life. I had fallen out of love with everything I once treasured as an actor, a writer, a filmmaker, and was ready to throw in the towel. Seeing my defeat, he asked me,

"If you could only do one thing as an artist for the rest of your life, what would you do?"

Without hesitation, I answered him.

"Theater."

Teatro di Vita (Italian for Theatre of Life) was born in December of 2022, and it's time for me to fully embrace it.

Teatro di Vita - Theatre of Life is a professional theatre troupe dedicated to creating thought-provoking, heartfelt experiences through theatrical performances accessible to diverse artists and audiences alike.

Two weeks ago, we opened the most beautifully impactful show. Still treasuring the messages and discussions ignited from Fool for Love. Thank you all for supporting us and opening your hearts the way you did. I think Sam Shepard is smiling somewhere. Eternal Gratitude 🙏 ❤️‍🔥

The power of love is one of the most incredible things in the world, but it can also be toxic if left unchecked. It can be both a blessing and a curse, with both extremes explored in Sam Shepard’s Fool For Love, a play coming to Teatro di Vita (@teatrodivita) this weekend! A few weeks back, we spoke with the director of the play, Callie Bussell (@creativecallieb), and two of the cast members, Eric Roman (@bringthepretzels), and Lucie Gillespie (@luciegillespieactor), about their time with this production!

Our interview can be found on the Box Seat Babes website, our YouTube channel, or all major podcast platforms! Catch one of three incredible performances of Fool For Love, running on The Citadel Stage at Enter Stage Right (@esrtheatre)!

"Robby, you are a diabolical Eddie." To take the quote directly from our director @creativecallieb because there isn't a better word to describe @robbymullinger 's portrayal of such a complex character.

Eddie, the cowboy, the rodeo stuntman... the romantic with a need for softness and acceptance as well as a need for control with a volatile temper.

You'll hate how much you love him... and you'll know why May can't just walk away from him.

You don't want to miss Robby in this role. I promise you won't soon forget it.

Have you ever found yourself torn between a love and hate for someone? Has your fantasy of the other person replaced the reality of the relationship? Is it an intense spiritual connection or a trauma bond?? Is any of it love at all or merely the devil you've danced with enough to find comfort in?

These are just a few of the difficult questions May must ask herself when her former lover returns for what is bound to be their heaviest emotional battle to date. To portray a character who is so strong willed yet so raw and vulnerable is a gift that @luciegillespieactor doesn't take for granted.

Fool for Love opens THIS Friday and runs June 6-8th at @esrtheatre ❤️‍🔥

What exactly is it like to be the man picking up the lady in red for a date to find she's got a longstanding history with the other man he stumbles upon in her motel room?

You'll have to watch and see...

Eric's portrayal of "Martin" in this twisted world of a toxic "love" story brings far more depth to the role than the words ever asked for. His courageous heart provides the mirror for Eddie and May to reflect upon their truths behind their story while his gentle spirit opens the window of opportunity for a lifetime of hurt to finally heal. Yet, in what ways is he, too, being fooled?

Never was May's final decision so difficult as it is for @luciegillespieactor to stand across from @bringthepretzels 💚

What a privilege and a joy it has been to work alongside you, Eric. Thank you for everything you've so generously given to this dream.

Who exactly is The Old Man in Sam Shepard's fiery "love" story?? Only the audience can answer that...if there is an answer 😉

Ken’s portrayal of such a mysterious character is filled with humor, nuance, and pain. Let him make you laugh and break your heart with how good his version of "The Old Man" is all the while, leaving you questioning his very existence.

What an honor and joy to work alongside you, my dear friend 🙏

As we close in our opening night in just a couple of weeks, it is imperative to acknowledge the heartbeat of our production - our bold and brilliant director, @creativecallieb . When it came time to choose a leader to steer the course for Sam Shepard's multilayered, complicated, darkly funny, and beautifully painful piece, there was no one better to approach. Callie brings not only a strong feminine voice to the production, but she approaches the material fearlessly for what it is while providing a collaborative environment for all it can (and has) become. She tackles the deeper issues underlying the text in a daring yet compassionate manner, and she continues to bring out the very best in all of the actors. We could not be more grateful she said yes to taking on this beautiful beast of a show.

Thank you @jessemcanally for another beautiful sneak peek.
