This is a free FAMILY-FRIENDLY cookout event. All who love and support queer Black people are welcome at the beach BLACKOUT. As a black queer Femme DJ, and co-organizer for the Big Queer Cookout I saw the need for spaces in Sacramento that center and uplift Black queer people, our culture, and our joy. This is a COVID-conscious event: we encourage everyone to take a COVID test before arriving masks will be available for all attendees What To Expect: food, music, free masks, and good vibes Community members are encouraged to bring food, water, and activities to enjoy at the private pool. Please DM us for a link to RSVP to let us know you're coming and to receive more event details. We are excited to celebrate with you. **If you’re not attending but still want to show your support, you can donate with a "Supportive Ally" ticket purchase, send funds directly to the organizers, or volunteer to help with set up/breakdown. by @technission_dj
~~✨LiB 2026 ✨~~ …And that’s a wrap! What a hot, dusty time! I skated my heart out! I played an ambient set! I FINALLY got to see @maceoplex ! But those were just the things I did; I went with an amazing crew of people, some of my oldest and crustiest and some brand new shiny festival virgins and everybody did the damn thing! I love summer festivals for the life they pour into me and the lessons they teach me about being in community and appreciating the time I have and have had. It’s no coincidence my solar return coincides with the chaos of festival season; I revel in it! Thank you to my friends for making all these great memories possible💗 by @technission_dj

One part of my life that I don’t talk about much is my flow✨ Back in 2019, I experienced some big life changes. I was navigating some things that I didn’t really have any support or resources for and I desperately needed an outlet. I happened upon a fire staff performer on Instagram and I was captivated by how calm and centered he looked while exuding strength and complete trust in himself to catch the part of the pole that didn’t light him on fire lol I had already taken martial arts previously so bo staff was familiar. I went to Home Depot, grabbed some 1” PVC pipe and the rest was history. Throughout the years this practice has helped keep me emotionally centered and physically active against all odds…through COVID, loss of friendship; even heartbreak. In October it will be 5 years since I started flow arts. The equipment has gotten flashier these days, but I still practice with the same 1” PVC pipe. Flow Arts have opened up so many personal growth avenues for me and until my wrists fall off, you know where to find me at a festival near you 😎 Maybe one day I’ll even do fire 🤪 by @technission_dj
