Creators of the Rapid Fire Dicebox! Making your tabletop games easier and more fun one innovation at a time!

POSTS STORIES REELS

Over the last few years I’ve learned a lot through running my own Kickstarter campaigns, from early mistakes through to figuring out what actually moves the needle in tabletop crowdfunding.

I’ve had a number of people ask recently if I’d be open to helping with their own launches, so I’m starting to offer limited creator-to-creator Kickstarter support through Tempest Launch Forge.

This is aimed at tabletop and hobby creators looking to launch stronger crowdfunding campaigns.

If you’re planning a project launch and want a second pair of eyes on it, feel free to DM me.

We are so close to having all the helmets and heads back and we cannot wait to show off the full case and start the charity giveaway.

These fantastic looking Raptors space marines were kindly painted up by @petethewargamer and they look absolutely stunning.

I’ve been sitting on this one for quite a while, but I think it’s finally time to properly show it.

This is NULLION.

I started working on Nullion back in September 2025 and until now I’ve kept most of it pretty quiet while I worked out what the game actually was. Last night we had the first proper playtest of the second full version of the rules and it honestly went better than I expected. It was fast, chaotic, funny, brutal, and most importantly the bits I really wanted to work actually worked.

We had fighters getting shoved off platforms, catching themselves on edges, hanging from gantries, falling several levels and fights completely changing because somebody had ended up standing in the wrong place. By the end of it I felt like the game had finally become the thing I’d been trying to make.

The main idea behind Nullion is that the terrain shouldn’t just be something you put your miniatures on. It should actually matter.

The game is designed around small but vertical tables and using that space as the focus of the fight. You can push people off ledges, reposition in a brawl to set up a shove, leap gaps, drop down levels, hang from platforms and generally use the battlefield itself to make life difficult for the other player.

Underneath that there’s opposed rolling, randomised activation, dynamic objectives, campaign progression and a lot of emphasis on positioning rather than just standing still and trading attacks.

There’s still loads to do, but after last night I’m properly excited about where it’s heading and I don’t really want to keep it hidden away anymore.

I’ve now opened a dedicated Nullion section in the Tempest Terrain Discord where I’m going to start sharing the rules, playtests, factions, terrain, artwork and the general process of developing the game.

If you want to follow along from this point, or get involved in playtesting further down the line, come and join us.

My 3min sketch for #nectober inspired by the word Riot!

I'm no artist but I'm pretty happy with this! It's the same with drawing or with miniature painting, in my opinion you can't get art wrong. If you had fun and let out some creative energy then it's good art. Therefore, by my definition, this was good art! 😉 by @tempestterrain

NECROMUNDA TERRAIN MAKERS RESULTS
The #NoSTCfound results are in.

For #noSTCfound, we wanted terrain made from anything except kits. Our judge Mike from @tempestterrain was hoping for "reusing materials and items in creative and clever ways to get some awesome effects.”

You guys delivered and the breadth of resources used was impressive.

🏆 CATEGORY WINNER: @h1zigartig

Mike:

"This is immaculate, at first look it appears to be a proper kit and that shows a huge level of creativity and skill. Just take a look at the WIP images and you can see the sheer amount of greebles and interesting parts that have been sourced and cleverly added to bring this piece to such a high standard. I would love to play a game on this tile”

Mike wanted to showcase as many entries as possible - we have 6 amazing runners-up:

@vveldhammer – "this really stood out to me....and embodies the category name NOSTCFOUND. Sculpture and terrain the likes I have never seen before!"

@de.stefan.peters - "the sheer amount of details, different materials and the overall immersive nature of the scene. The playability looks really thought out with walkways, bridges, sump resin pours, containers, shanty houses pipes..... the list goes on."

@hyenapainting et al - " This opitimises how awesome scratch building terrain can be... and looks straight out of necromunda."

@vile_models - "This is gorgeous and layered with details and atmosphere. Such a high quality diorama that is telling a great story"

Knebl (discord and YT) - "The two stage moving mechanism is awesome and is so much more convincing than a single sliding motion, I applaud your creativity here!"

@painter__tom - " I love how cohesive and playable and modular

Congratulations to @h1zigartig and all the runners-up, and a huge thank you to everyone who entered. The standard was insane!

Thank you to our sponsors! @tempestterrain @orangebrushes @LPP_insta @sump_lab
