this meme hits different if you’ve gotten to the end of terrace house tokyo part three 😓 but also just in general, between the news, society, and our personal lives, it’s getting a little overwhelming now that conversations regarding opening up and how that will even begin to look like will begin. let’s be sure to practice radical self care always, and don’t be afraid to turn off the news for a bit once in a while to recenter 🤍 it’s especially hard to be seeing and ingesting so much racism, violence, anti-asian / anti-bipoc, misogynist rhetoric packaged as breaking news, when we’re all just trying our best to be human and cope ourselves. please know it’s okay to take what michelle @tediously_brief likes to call “a social selfish” where you socialize with essential communicates only, as borrowed from the ever brilliant @instadanjlevy & @annefrances on @schittscreek. no non-essential socializing allowed. essential socializing and news imbibing only 📰 lol!
—————————
we have a new minisode out for #minisodemonday, called: “insta burokku: japanese social media vocab” — which is all about, you guessed it, a couple key social networking japanese vocab words as heard on episode 12 of terrace house tokyo. it is live to stream and download now, hit the linktree above to listen 🎧
—————————
also welcome to the @iamemika21 episodes of @terracedout! she is one of two new housemates entering the house in episode 15, which we will be covering this week on @terracedout, out 12:00am EST this Thursday, May 14th, 2020! by @terracedout

🎭 Kenny Has Feelings! 🎭 Konbanwa! On this episode of @TerracedOut, Michelle @tediously_brief and Kait @bigscreenbooks chat episode 7 of #TerraceHouse Tokyo 2019-2020: “Woman to Treat and Woman to Split the Check.”
💳
The Terraced Out hosts offer deeper perspectives on real world issues AND go over a few key moments of the episode; from dinner plans and who pays for whom and what that might signify (or not!), to a very curious throwback of the Tempura Incident, you definitely don’t want to miss this and so much more!

let’s be real, thanks to covid-19, now this is all of us during cherry blossom season 2020 🌸🥺
—————————
out of the hosts, kait @bigscreenbooks and jesse @jessethereader are both cancers, and michelle @tediously_brief has a cancer venus.
—————————
slide for the announcement of the as of yet indefinite suspension of production on tokyo 2020 via /terrace house english couch on twitter 🥺😭💕 episode 40, the third episode of part 4, will be the last new episode for the indefinite future.
—————————
how are you coping with the news? by @terracedout

konbanwa terrace heads! @th_6_tv announced today that in order to protect the health and safety of the entire cast and crew of #terracehouse, production have made the difficult but necessary decision to temporarily halt of filming of the Tokyo 2020 season indefinitely. While production, staff, cast, et all understand their fans may be disappointed by this news, episode 40 will be the last new episode of terrace house that will be released until further notice. .
—————————
if you are not up to date on what is going on in tokyo, they recently were placed under a state of emergency and are requesting its’ citizens to work from home, leading most japanese tv stations to halt on location and in-studio filming in order to comply with said order. not dissimilar to the industry out here in los angeles, and i’m sure many entertainment / filming hubs all over the country, and further, the world.
—————————
while this is very heart wrenching as a fan who was looking forward to the progression of the season, I also had been starting to feel concern for the safety and emotional well-being of the castmates and crew myself, and am relieved that they have decided to go forward with protecting everyone as they need to be. While we would all love our favorite show to escape into during these hard times, we all also deeply care for these cast mates and i know i am not alone in feeling great relief in knowing everyone is going to be safe at home.
—————————
so if you haven’t already binged all of part three, savoring is now probably more important than ever... so i hope you are pacing yourselves! 😂 and if you need more terrace house, you could always start a rewatch from part one episode one, and follow along with us here on @terracedout as we continue to make our way through the last two episodes of part one on the pod in the coming two weeks! hit the linktree in our bio to listen now!
