THE FAILURE ISSUE LAUNCHED AT ATHENAEUM, AMSTERDAM 🧨 ‘Come celebrate failure,’ read our invite, and you really showed up.
•
Friends filling the shop. Curious new readers peeping the new issue. Future contributors whispering the awful things people do into our editor’s ear. Witty words from @emrevill and @tammytamatie, and marvelling at the Oops! photo series with @lonnekevanderpalen. Amsterdam, you were anything but a failure. ❤️‍🔥
•
Big love to the @athenaeumnieuwscentrum team for having us and absolutely nailing the theme colours. And a shout-out to @robbbbemond for the support!
•
A smashing success, if we do say so ourselves. Which is embarrassing, given the theme. See you next time 🤝 by @terriblepeoplemag

Things go wrong…. might as well make a magazine about it. A little look inside Issue 8: The Failure Issue, made possible by a very talented bunch of Terrible People:

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST FAIL? We asked guests at our London and Amsterdam launch parties to share their most obscure failures… some were just too good to be shared!

Can you recognise yourself? Own up in the comments. We promise not to judge (too much). by @terriblepeoplemag

Soho, we’ve got some bad news (only the good kind): Terrible People magazine’s Failure Issue is now at @goodnews.soholondon.magazines.
Go get your copy. by @terriblepeoplemag

To be… or not to be a parent? That is the real question. Clara Guillemin investigates why the “failure” to procreate can send grandparents (or a president) into a full-blown panic. Because apparently, what you do with your life is everyone’s business now…

Did the printer forget to staple our magazine? Yes. Was it a disaster? Absolutely. Was it painfully on theme? 100%. Could AI ever? Never.

Some failures teach you something. Some just make good stories… so we made an entire magazine of them. Terrible People Issue 8: The Failure Issue is out now. by @terriblepeoplemag

Yesterday, Terrible People made an appearance at @drmartensofficial’s new Brewer Street flagship where @jordanfstephens’ week-long takeover is bringing together music, comedy, poetry and a very good selection of magazines.

The Failure Issue is now available at the Dr. Martens Soho store. Brewer Street just got a little more terrible. by @terriblepeoplemag

The Failure Issue is out now.
•
We failed. You failed. Everyone failed. So naturally, we made a magazine about it. Issue 8 of Terrible People gets into the good, the bad and the spectacularly fucked-up side of failure — failed systems, discarded ideas, existential dread, late-stage capitalism, our collective “failure to procreate”, neomedieval knights, banana peels and other things going beautifully wrong.
•
Because sometimes failure is a flop. Sometimes it’s a blessing in disguise. And sometimes it’s just excellent content.
