El Rey 🇲🇽👑🇲🇽 His legendary ranchera music will forever transcend through generations of Mexican households and preserve the memories of our childhoods, of our parents, of our grandparents, and be passed onto our children. Gracias por la musica, we’ll be singing Volver just a little bit louder today. by @territorymagazine

Via: @ggofthewest / Slated for the third print issue of @territorymagazine I've been holding onto these photographs for the better part of almost three years now—we shot this story back in December of 2018. The production of this story and the accompanying personal essay are very near and dear to my heart, and deeply connected to my Mexican culture and roots growing up in Tucson, AZ in the 80’s and 90’s.

I’ve decided to release some of the work and the essay with the launch of my newly updated website, coming soon. In the meantime here is a peek into the love letter and visual tribute: El Espiritu de la Chola 🕊🌹📿

Photographed this magical window of time on an evening walk through the solitude of the Sonoran desert. A humble consumption of Pat Mora’s words remembered filled me up again standing in that space-so here I share these words with you. Yes, the landscape has signatures of endurance, survival and fruition all over it, and so do we. ✨🌵🕊
