POSTS STORIES REELS

A fabulous day with our Spanish amigos, @yolandagranados and @ramon_isabelo discovering another special corner of beautiful Cabo de Gata National Park, Almeria.
An unusual beach made of huge grey pebbles, completely deserted and all to ourselves! Not another soul in sight. Just warm water, and a swim as the sun began to dip.
Then off to Rodalquilar for a few drinks, a spectacular sunset and a moonlit sky to finish the day. 🍹🌅🌙

🐔 This is Sooty. She’s not just a chicken. She’s somebody. 💚
Cuddles with Sooty remind me why I choose to live my life in a way that doesn’t involve cruelty to animals.
When you take the time to get to know chickens, you discover inquisitive, funny little characters, each with their own personality, needs and quirks. They can even recognise individual human faces and when allowed naturally chickens can live for 8–15 years.

But the heartbreaking truth is that chickens in animal agriculture rarely get the chance to live anything like that life, and are the most abused land animals on the planet 😔
💔 Meat chickens are often slaughtered at around 5–7 weeks old.
💔 Hens in the egg industry normally killed after around 18–24 months of production.
💔 Male chicks in the egg industry are killed on their first day of life, because they cannot lay eggs. Most are killed by maceration! A ‘legal’ industrial process that kills newly hatched chicks.
And then there are Frankenchickens - chickens selectively bred to grow so rapidly that their bodies struggle to keep up. Their legs, hearts and other organs suffer, and many experience painful health problems before they ever reach adulthood.
Just look at Sooty. Imagine if she had been born into animal agriculture. Sadly, she’d get more room in the oven than she ever got to enjoy in her life.
How can we cuddle one chicken, laugh at her antics and love her personality, yet see another as nothing more than food?
They are individuals, not products. They deserve to live, to feel safe, to explore and to be loved. How anyone could hurt her or any animal, or pay someone else to do so for them is beyond my comprehension.
🌱 Choose kindness. Choose compassion. Choose vegan.

Three weeks have passed since filming @shiftthethriftbbc and every now and then i think to myself, I cannot believe i actually did that!
For the past few years I’ve stepped so far out of my old comfort zone in so many ways, and honestly I dont think the old me would recognize me now.
Filming Shift the Thrift for BBC One has to be right up there with one of the craziest, most unexpected things to happen to me — and how cool to do it alongside @iamjoannapage ! she’s just the sweetest 💚 And the whole production team are just the best! Thanks every single one of you 🙏
There were definitely moments of imposter syndrome while filming, but I absolutely loved the whole experience. It reminded me that sometimes we just have to feel the fear and do it anyway. Sometimes you just have to step outside your comfort zone, push your boundaries and see what happens. That’s where the good stuff happens!
Never underestimate the power you have to take your life in a completely new direction.

One year on… and what a year it’s been! 🇪🇸☀️
One year ago, we first appeared on @channel4 @anewlifeinthesun as we embarked on our Spanish adventure, opening Thrive Vegan Bédar, our vegan B&B in the beautiful village of Bédar.
Now we’re back on the current series of A New Life in the Sun: Where Are They Now? to share what’s happened since!
Tune in this Monday 14th September, Channel 4, 6pm ☀️ #anewlifeinthesun #thriftingwithtomandterry #bedar #vegan by @terry_boldero

It’s took 6 months, but I finally completed my first oil painting.
It was a real challenge getting to grips with how differently oils paints are to work with than acrylics. That’s why it took so long to make as I walked away many times.
I wanted to put everything if been learning at art class with @sarahburt_art thank you Sarah for sharing your knowledge and artistic talents with me and the rest of the group 🙏
It’s very exposing to share my art on here but hopefully it might inspire someone to get creating 🙌 it’s therapy and it’s more about the process than the result. Although it is nice when the process turns into something you like and even feel proud of.
Hope you like my imperfect painting of an imperfect casa.

One of the best things about living in Spain is getting to share it with family and friends.
I was so excited to finally get my lovely friend Phoebe here. We managed to fit so much into a relatively short time, and even managed to squeeze in some relaxing moments too.
The people we love are the most important part of our lives, so don’t waste time, share stories, laugh together, tell them you love them, make as many memories as you can together, they last forever.
Stay close to people who feel like sunshine ☀️

Memories of VCO with Nic 💚
It’s our favorite time of the year! Vegan Campout has come around again.
Our lovely friend Nic joined us at VCO many times, and being here for this year’s festival has bought back so many memories we made with her here.
@tombrynclarke and I have been reminiscing about all the fun times we shared. We’ve had a few tears and lots of laughs.
Anyone who knew Nic will appreciate the last picture on this reel. Her face when she had to wait 10 mins for a gluten free option 😂
Miss you Nic 💚 by @terry_boldero

This was one of those moments when it’s hard not to feel disappointed in some people’s behavior.
On a recent visit to one of our favorite countryside beauty spots in Norfolk, the beautiful West Acre Ford, I was appalled by the amount of rubbish left behind. This is a unique and special place for everyone to enjoy. The perfect spot to nature bath, paddle in the clear cool water of the ford on hot summer days and watch and listen to the wildlife who live here. It’s beyond my comprehension that anyone could make a special trip to enjoy this place, yet show no regard whatsoever.
Places like this are special and it’s our duty to protect and keep them this way.

Finding paradise.
Driving 7km down a dusty track, through beautiful desert like landscape, until this absolutely stunning beach cove appears. The unbelievable turquoise waters sparkling in the sunlight, and the golden sands, we could have been fooled we were somewhere more tropical than Almeria Spain.

Even after three years of living in the beautiful area of Almeria Spain, we still keep discovering new little pieces of paradise.
So nice to find it with my amiga @yolandagranados 🩵
