POSTS STORIES REELS

Just realized the video in my post cut off too soon. Here is the bull coming in screaming in our face and charlie laying the hammer down. Over posting but still fired up! by @terrysoutdoors

Last spring I put in both my boys in for a couple of youth hunts in New Mexico for Oryx and Ibex as youth can get some pretty awesome opportunities. While I was at it I figured I would put them in for Elk. If you know anything about the draw process your odds as a non-resident non outfitted are extremely low. Welp Charlie’s always had good luck and low and behold out of almost 900 applicants he drew one of the 8 tags. It was an open sight muzzleloader hunt and with the late rut this year was just prime time rut action.
We had a great early morning and saw several shooters but most were way off. We called in a young 5x5 but not what we were after. By late We got to a good high point at the end of the mountain and just set up to hunt for the afternoon. The bulls had pretty much gone quiet when all of a sudden midday we got some wind and cloud cover they started firing up some. We were working a bull who was across ridge when a bull all of a sudden fired up behind us and was coming! His cows came over first at about 150 but I gave him some sweet talking and he beelined it to us. Charlie made a great shot (he was so close would have been a great bow shot too) and he piled up seconds later. Fired up! Then the hellacious work began and we started the pack out. It’s the next morning and we are about to hike in and get the rest. A lifetime memory and I feel extremely blessed to have had the opportunity with Charlie. God is good! Will report in from the pack out! by @terrysoutdoors

Day late Happy Bday to Terry’s Outdoors prostaffer and turkey man and slabmaster @adamquickoxfordms by @terrysoutdoors

I told my budro he was coming and to get his gun up but I guess he was thinking he was ready. This bird came in a little too hot to handle. Looked like usain poult coming down that logging road. The safety click at about 8 yards spooked him and this big boy lived to see another day. Will have to check back on him in a week or so...#staymadatem #terrysoutdoors #yawtyawt #usainpoult by @terrysoutdoors
