Happy Wednesday! Another week just speeding by 💨 Grey and chilly here today, glad of my hot soup at lunchtime.

Well I got on the scales today and another 1lb gone so I'm absolutely 100% over that lengthy plateau. Yippeeee! I know the scales aren't everything, but we do look to them for validation even when everything else shows we're shrinking.
Especially after a 5 month stall!
So pleased, it's been a long few months. Glad I persevered anyway, any other time the frustration & disappointment would've caused me to give up.
This time feels different though, it's the longest I've ever stayed on-plan throughout a lifetime of yo-yo-ing...something has clicked 😊
And I'm actually enjoying it! I enjoy my meals, never feel hungry or hard done by, or that I'm missing out - *nothing* is off bounds, in moderation!

So anyway, on we go. I've still a good way to go, but am lighter now than I have been in several years 😊

Next week's menu all planned & logged 😊 Always room for manoeuvre if needs be, but I tend to stick to it as it helps with advance prep (ie Tuesday's curry will be made tomorrow) and getting things out of the freezer the night before.
Lunches & suppers/snacks are generally kept free depending what I fancy at the time (soup is a daily given!)
It's probably a bit regimented for some, but works for me as I can't be trusted to decide & rummage last minute when I'm hungry and nothing is thawed or prepped! 🐷 by @tessielc52026

It's the weekened! Happy Saturday and 👻 Happy Halloween! 👻

I'd left it all to the last minute as usual, so had a frantic morning carving pumpkins, arranging spiders & cobwebs in the trees and windows and putting up lights etc etc.
Prepped tea early, cos I knew once all the little ghouls started calling I'd have little chance for cooking (or eating!) for 2 or 3 of hours. Lots of steps though, getting up and down for them, bonus!

Made a batch of soup as well; wanted to try Sue's Bombay Potato soup next but didn't have time for something new so had to stick with my usual today.
Midweek I'll try that one though, 100% 😊

Happy Thursday!

Relieved to report that the 8lbs has stayed off, 3 days now so I'm taking that as legit.
I'd been on a plateau since June 😮 fluctuating through the same few pounds but never going lower ... clothes were looser but the scales were frustrating, just relieved it's moving again.
They do say "trust the process" and that's exactly what I did. Took its flippin time though 😂

LUNCH: Homemade celery & leek soup and an egg mayo sandwich (773c) It's a wonder I don't get sick of this soup having it most days but I don't, and it's ever so healthy with a whole head of celery in every batch, plus a leek and an onion. Packed with fibre, vitamins & lots of antioxidants and tasty, filling and warming too.

TEA: Pork belly and a sausage (cos the belly slices were TINY! Only ate one sausage) with mash, swede & carrot mash, cabbage, leeks & gravy (600c)

SUPPER: will be: Rice Krispies & 150mls semi-skimmed milk (194c)

SNACKS: will be: Cheesy curls, 2 Walkers shortbread rounds and 2 Hills digestives (269c)

Happy Wednesday! Halfway through another week already.

Made a fresh batch of soup and bagged up some different biccies. I bought a big pack of 9 x 13cm grip seal bags, perfect for splitting up large packets of biscuits into individual portions of 2 or 3 (depending on their calories).
Tonight I'm trying the Zero Zingy Dark Chocolate Oaties. These are larger than the Slimms and 74 calories each, so I portioned into bags of two instead of 3.
This is such a lifesaver for me, being able to enjoy tea and biscuits again without having an open packet lying around screaming "EAT ME!" or "FINISH ME OFF BEFORE I GO STALE!" 😂
Some biscuits I buy already individually wrapped, but every little trick helps when you're a little piggy like me 🐷

Grey and showery here today. One thing I love about this cooler weather is how clear and icy cold the water is straight from the tap, I'm drinking so much of it.
So easy to meet (and exceed) my water quota at this time of year. I'm not one for buying water, tap does for me 😁

LUNCH: Homemade celery & leek soup and an egg mayo sandwich (407c)

TEA: Homemade chicken shawarma & chips with Goldfish Hot & Spicy curry sauce (740c)

SUPPER: will be: Weetabix & 150mls semi-skimmed milk (211c)

SNACKS: will be: Cheesy curls, 2 Walkers shortbread rounds, 1 Werthers sugar-free toffee and 2 Zero chocolate & ginger oaties (314c)

Happy Tuesday!
A sunny but blowy one here today, so managed to catch up on some washing. Can't beat line-dried freshness, although good drying days will be getting less and less over the coming weeks so need to make the most of it.
Managed a session on the treadmill now I finally have some breath again (lurgy on its way out).
And the scales showed a nice whoosh! after weeks of nothing, looks like the fluids have finally been released - 8lbs gone!
(not making a big dance about it in case it's back tomorrow 😂)

LUNCH: Homemade celery & leek soup and a tuna/mayo/cucumber sandwich (421c)

TEA: Homemade chicken, shrimp & veg chow mein with oyster & soy sauce (710c)

SUPPER: will be: Weetabix & 150mls semi-skimmed milk (215c)

SNACKS: will be: Cheesy curls, 2 Biscoff XL and 2 Walkers shortbread rounds [love a hot cuppa and biscuits at feet-up time on a chilly night] (310c)
