Apolo Ohno's father was a steady source of support and encouragement in his life. His father instilled values in his life he would carry on through life, and helped construct Apolo's self worth, resilience, and agency. This is the byproduct of a healthy positive relationship in a young child's life.
If a child is told they can't do something, chances are they won't try. If a child is told they can achieve anything they set their sights on and encouraged through love and modeling, chances are they will succeed.

The system wrote us off. Life without parole. A permanent label that said we had nothing left to contribute.

But here’s the thing about human beings—we are not our worst mistakes. Everyone in these pictures and videos was serving a life sentence. Today, we are living proof that justice doesn’t have to end with a locked door.

Restorative justice isn’t soft—it’s hard work. It’s facing who you were, repairing what you broke, and becoming someone new. We are not exceptions. We are evidence that when you invest in transformation, people rise.

No one should be defined forever by the worst thing they’ve ever done. Change is real. 🔥

So proud of my brother Dara. All the lessons he's learned since coming home he passes on to countless women and men coming home after him. A living embodiment of the word COMMUNITY. by @thaisan_beyondlwop

Accountability is an action, not a social status.

My practice of living amends became part of the foundation of The Prism Way’s culture. It shaped the way we approach accountability, peer support, and community—reminding us that healing is not about perfection, but about consistently choosing to give back, repair harm, and support others in finding hope, healing, and restoration. Through lived experience, service, and accountability, we strive to model the transformation we believe is possible for everyone. by @thaisan_beyondlwop

Hey yall. I am so excited to announce that our film CHASING REDEMPTION will be available to stream on Tubi this week, alongside 4 other films produced by formerly incarcerated leaders from Represent Justice's Ambassador Program.

CHASING REDEMPTION follows Dara and Tommy's transformational journey to hold themselves accountable for the harm they once caused when they were emerging adults.

I want to thank Dara and Tommy for letting the world see what change looks like in real life.

I'll keep yall posted on when you can stream it...FOR FREE. I mean, who doesn't like free 99 right.
Much love community,
Thaisan

“Chasing Redemption” is a reminder that a life without parole sentence doesn’t define a life, and that people returning home from LWOP have so much to offer their communities.

Coming to a screen near you, this week on @tubi! by @thaisan_beyondlwop

Our films are coming to @Tubi!

Five Represent Justice films are making their streaming debut, exploring reentry, youth justice, alternatives to incarceration, and the criminalization of trauma.

All five were produced by formerly incarcerated leaders from our Ambassador Program. Real stories. Real voices. Streaming free on Tubi, beginning next week.

This is what justice storytelling looks like when it’s led by the people most impacted. by @thaisan_beyondlwop
