& I’m so grateful 👌 what caught you by surprise when you started something new? by @thatdadbennywallis

What up team! For those of you new to my page, I’m Ben

Beginner triathlete 🏃🏊‍♂️🚴‍♂️

Father of✌️

And lover of all this exercise!

I’m documenting my journey to my first triathlon finish line and beyond, so join me for all the trials & tribulations along the way.

It’s gonna be interesting getting it done and raising two little munchkins at the same time.

Cheers 🤙

Mad Dad Riding Co. vs Bris2Gc POV: Me 😎

Thank again to @brisbanetogoldcoast for putting on such an event & can’t wait for next year already

Real talk ❤️ I’m a proud girl dad!

Don’t get me wrong, when my wife was pregnant with both of my beautiful girls, I did the whole “I can’t wait for a boy” or “it’s got to be a boy to keep the family name alive” but now I see that life had other ideas & for all the right reasons!

It’s such a privilege to see these girls grow and learn & they’ve helped me grow and learn more than they’ll ever know.

Although I can’t show them how to “be a man” like dads can to their sons, I can show them something even better… show them “How men should be”. I know these girls are going to grow up into amazing young women, they are already so smart, strong, fierce, funny and so much more.

I love being a girl dad & I’m glad this is what the world gave me ❤️ by @thatdadbennywallis

Now I’m by far not a runners nerd (yet!), I’m just a dad and aspiring triathlete who’s just keen to share my opinion…

Out of all the shoes I’ve tried so far, the @asicsaustralia SonicBlast have blasted my socks off! I use them for everything, short, long, speed, easy runs I can’t get enough of them.

I’m looking forward to trying more of the range one day 👌

I can 100% say everyone should try these bad boys at least once, you won’t be disappointed. by @thatdadbennywallis

This one’s for my neurospicey athletes 🌶️

The clouds held out enough that I could take Merv out for his first spin 🔥

Reasons I smile lately 🫡❤️🎉

Movement = freedom

Turns out if you try hard enough, you can’t lose 🤷‍♂️

Coffee ☕️ nuff said right?

Cheering on sissy

Begins her journey of “doing hard shit” but she’ll grow up thinking it’s just the norm 🔥

P.s. forever the smallest competitor on the day 😍 by @thatdadbennywallis

1. Communicate, plan and compromise with my wife. She always knows my training plan, and we split our training time as evenly as we can, because her training counts too.

2. Training happens when it can. 4am alarms, 5am starts, lunch break sessions. If it fits, it happens.

3. Make training social. Easy runs are with my wife when possible (she gets someone to push her, I get someone to listen to me yap 😅), and catch-ups with mates are usually a workout too, it’s good to have friends with common goals!

4. Bring the kids. Pram runs, home gym sessions + a 4yo singing “lets it go” or “Golden” or a swim session while they splash. Training and family time don’t have to compete.

5. Prep the night before. Gear, snacks and outfit are laid out, ready to grab and go.

6. Don’t punish a missed session. Between family, a business and a 9-5, I’ll miss one here or there. Control what I can, accept what I can’t. There’s always tomorrow.

What’s working for you? Let me know in the comments 💬 by @thatdadbennywallis

Family announcement 😱 so glad to finally be able to introduce him to you all!

Shout out to the team at @bikelab_brisbane for sorting me out with a great package and bike fit 👌

Now all we need is the rain to flip off so I can take him out for the maiden voyage 🙌 by @thatdadbennywallis
