my kids think these are fruit snacks… 🍓🥭
but it’s literally just fruit 🤍

yes I know these are technically fruit snacks 😅
I’m talking about the store-bought junk

no dyes. no weird ingredients.
and somehow they’re more obsessed with these than anything in a box 🙃

I used to think I needed a pantry full of snacks
but it just made everything harder

this is simpler ✨
and they actually eat it

my kids are obsessed with gummy worms…

but the ingredient list at the store is wild.

so we started making them at home.

just fruit juice, honey, and grass-fed gelatin… which means they’re actually packed with protein.

and my kids think they’re candy.

5 minute mom win.

my kids think this is a slushie 👀🇺🇸

just frozen fruit, coconut cream, and a tiny bit of spirulina for the blue 🫶🏼

simple summer snacks will always win around here.

At some point, we have to ask ourselves who we’re actually trying to prove we’re good mothers to.

Our kids? Or the imaginary panel of judges we’ve been answering to our entire lives?

Because I have a feeling a whole lot of us are spending our children’s childhoods trying to earn a grade nobody is actually giving us.

And that’s a pretty heartbreaking way to spend a life we only get to live once.

Anyway, millennial moms. How’s that perfectionism working out for us? 😅🤎

I think I just found our new Christmas morning tradition. 👀🎄

Soft, fluffy orange sweet rolls, homemade cranberry filling, and a very generous amount of orange cream cheese frosting.

They’re a little messy, ridiculously good, and honestly, I wouldn’t have them any other way.

Save these for Christmas morning. 🤎

What if your life isn’t nearly as overwhelming as you’ve convinced yourself it is?

What if you’ve gotten so used to focusing on what’s wrong, what’s missing, and what needs to change that you’ve stopped noticing everything that’s actually good?

I’m not saying life isn’t hard. Sometimes it’s really freaking hard.

But I wonder how many of us are waiting for life to get easier before we give ourselves permission to enjoy it.

The house doesn’t have to be clean. The kids don’t have to behave perfectly. And you don’t have to have everything figured out.

You can want things to be different without wishing away the life you’re living right now.

Because one day, you’ll look back and realize these were the good days. And I hope you didn’t spend them wishing for different ones. 🤎

I think I may have ruined store-bought donuts for my kids. 😂🤎

Homemade pumpkin apple cider donuts, and I’m not sure there’s a better way to welcome fall.

Soft, fluffy, made from scratch, and that apple cider glaze?! GOOD GRIEF.

I’m not saying I’ll never buy donuts again, but these certainly aren’t helping my case. 😅

I’m officially done buying chicken strips. 😂🤎

Crispy homemade chicken strips, garlic Parmesan sweet potato fries, and ranch from scratch. And I’m not saying they’re better than restaurant chicken… but I’m also not taking questions at this time. 😂

Lately I’ve been having so much fun making more of our favorite foods at home. Not because everything needs to be homemade, but because I genuinely love knowing what’s going into our meals, being more intentional about where our ingredients come from, and making food I feel good about feeding my family.

And when all five kids love it? Even better.

I’m Dani! Around here we’re making good food, raising kids, and enjoying the life we’re building. 🤎

This one might ruffle a few feathers. 😅

I have five kids. Believe me, our house is anything but quiet.

But I’ve been thinking about how much of the chaos we blame on motherhood is actually coming from everything else we’ve allowed to take up space in our lives.

The expectations. The schedules. The constant pressure to do more, be more, and somehow keep up with everybody else.

And then our kids need us, and suddenly they’re the inconvenience?

Maybe we don’t need to get better at doing it all.

Maybe we need to start asking ourselves why we’re doing it all in the first place.

Make your world a little smaller. Stop letting the world decide what being a good mom should look like. Ask yourself what YOUR kids actually need from you.

Because I don’t want to spend their entire childhood so busy trying to do motherhood right that I forget to actually enjoy it.

Anyway, just a mom of five stepping on her own toes over here. 😂🤎

And if you’re new here, I’m Dani. I share a whole lot of homemade food, a little chaos, and my attempt at making the most of this one beautiful life we get.

Because I really do believe we can love the life we’re living, even when it looks nothing like we planned. 🤎

The urge to make everything from scratch is getting a little out of hand. 😂🤎

Homemade raspberry breakfast pockets, inspired by the toaster strudels we grew up eating.

Just one more store-bought favorite we’re making at home.

Five kids. Five different opinions. 😂

I’ve learned that the easiest dinners aren’t necessarily the ones everyone loves equally. They’re the ones where there’s something for everyone.

And this crispy rice steak salad was exactly that.

Steak, crispy rice, fresh veggies, and a creamy homemade dressing. Everyone got something they loved, and I didn’t have to make five separate dinners.

A win is a win. 😂🤍

Save this one for your next steak night!
