It’s time for a new look... After more than a decade, today we’ve launched a fresh identity and new website to reflect where we’re heading. What began with a love of beautiful vintage pieces has grown into a curated design destination, filled with mid-century home decor and homewares from Australia and around the world. The look may be new, but our passion hasn’t changed. We’ll keep searching for wonderful, unusual and hard-to-find pieces to help inspire you to create the space that you call home. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has visited the showroom, bought from us online, followed along, recommended us or stopped by for a chat. Thank you for being part of our story so far. Stan & David x thatretropiece.com 📸: @mr_stephenblake ______ #thatretropiece #vintage #retro #innerwestsydney #newtownnsw #yourcurateddesigndestination by @thatretropiece

Crisp white opaline glass paired with stark black accents - there's something so timeless about a classic monochrome palette ✨ This Italian Empoli glass duo brings together a lidded apothecary jar on a black pedestal foot, alongside a tall, wide-bellied pitcher featuring a contrasting black glass handle. Made in Empoli, Italy in the 1960s/70s, both pieces are in excellent condition and available now. More details and images on the site, or see them in person in our Newtown showroom. thatretropiece.com ✨ ______ #ThatRetroPiece #Vintage #Retro #InnerWestSydney #NewtownNSW #YourCuratedDesignDestination #EmpoliGlass #ItalianGlass #VintageEmpoli #ApothecaryJar #OpalineGlass #MilkGlass #MonochromeDecor #MidCenturyGlass #MidCenturyModern #VintageArtGlass #CuratedInteriors #CollectibleDesign #SydneyVintage #MidCenturyHome by @thatretropiece
Golden oranges and yellows for an otherwise gloomy Sydney day - we're loving how well Japanese art glass and Italian ceramics pair together here ✨ This duo brings together a tall, triangular Japanese vase by Iwatsu Glass in orange, yellow and clear glass, alongside a mustard yellow cylindrical vase by Bitossi, featuring a central floral medallion design in similar tones. Dating to the 1960s/70s, both pieces are in excellent condition and available now. Warm tones, rich textures and a touch of metallic gold - we're loving how effortlessly this trio comes together ✨ This grouping pairs a gold Bitossi 'Pettinato' table lamp with a textured drum shade, an Aldo Londi-designed 'Clover' vase for Bitossi in earthy brown with gold detailing, and an Australian-made gold ceramic horse figurine by Rakumba Pottery. All three pieces are in excellent condition and available now (and included in our 13% off Halloween Birthday Sale until midnight tonight). More details and images on the site, or see them in person in our Newtown showroom - open 'til 4pm today. thatretropiece.com ✨ ______ #ThatRetroPiece #Vintage #Retro #InnerWestSydney #NewtownNSW #YourCuratedDesignDestination #Bitossi #BitossiCeramiche #AldoLondi #ItalianCeramics #Rakumba #RakumbaPottery #AustralianPottery #AustralianCeramics #RetroLighting #VintageLamps #MidCenturyCeramics #MidCenturyModern #VintageCeramics #CuratedInteriors #CollectibleDesign #SydneyVintage #MidCenturyHome by @thatretropiece

The texture and colour layering on this Sanyu Glass vase is something else... what a stunner! ✨ From their 'Narumi Fantasy' range, this Japanese art glass piece features heavy, sculptural white glass draping down the body over a gradient of sky blue and deep purple. The way it catches the natural light and throws soft colour across the surface underneath is just magic. Made in Japan by Sanyu Glass in the 1960s/70s, and it's in excellent condition. There's no denying the iconic appeal of Aldo Londi's gorgeous blue glazes for Bitossi, and pairing two different pieces together is a great way to show off that rich Mediterranean blue ✨ This Italian duo pairs a classic 'Rimini Blu' cat figurine featuring their impressed and instantly recognisable motifs, with a vase in a somewhat harder-to-find decor. It features a floral band in green, periwinkle and gold around the centre. Made by Bitossi Ceramiche in the 1960s/70s, both are in excellent condition. If you love our signature table lamps, wait until you see the new conical shades we've just started making ✨ We've been having a lot of fun experimenting with this tall conical silhouette. It gives our vintage ceramic bases a completely different profile, and really lets those bold vintage fabrics take centre stage. This trio pairs our conical shades with a West German fat lava base in red and blue, a teal geometric ceramic base by Ellis, and a lime green relief base. All three of these stunning lamps are available now. View more details and images on the site, or see them in person in our Newtown showroom. thatretropiece.com/collections/lighting ✨ ______ #ThatRetroPiece #Vintage #Retro #InnerWestSydney #NewtownNSW #YourCuratedDesignDestination #RetroLighting #VintageLamps #TableLamps #ConicalShades #StatementLighting #EllisCeramics #AustralianPottery #WestGermanPottery #FatLavaLamp #MidCenturyLighting #MidCenturyModern #VintageCeramics #CuratedInteriors #CollectibleDesign #SydneyVintage #MidCenturyHome by @thatretropiece

We're loving the mix of colours in this Multi Glass vase ✨ This Japanese art glass piece features a ruffled rim and a gradient of lime green and blue, with a cluster of bright yellow glass murrine suspended around the base. Positioned here against a deep navy backdrop, you can see how well those vibrant tones pop against darker walls or rich timber. Made in Fukuoka, Japan by Multi Glass in the 1960s/70s, and it's in excellent condition. You can view more details and images on the site, or see it in our Newtown showroom. thatretropiece.com ✨ ______ #ThatRetroPiece #Vintage #Retro #InnerWestSydney #NewtownNSW #YourCuratedDesignDestination #JapaneseArtGlass #VintageJapaneseGlass #MultiGlass #MultiGlassJapan #FukuokaGlass #MidCenturyGlass #MidCenturyModern #VintageArtGlass #CuratedInteriors #CollectibleDesign #SydneyVintage #MidCenturyHome by @thatretropiece
