Over the summer, I had the opportunity to bring one of our community projects to life, and it was truly an experience I’ll never forget. ❤️

We came together with the @the.prproject to support our unhoused neighbors in South Shore by providing hot meals, clothing, personal care items, and access to mobile showers. Something as simple as a shower can restore dignity and make someone feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Being able to serve our community in this way reminded me why giving back is so important to me. South Shore is home, and I believe that when we have the ability to make a difference, we should.

This was only the beginning. We hope to continue creating meaningful opportunities to serve, support, and uplift the South Shore community through more outreach events and community initiatives.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible. Together, we can continue showing our community that they matter, they are seen, and they are not forgotten.🐾❤️

If you are looking for some good soul food, stop by this sister’s spot. Her name is Victoria and she’s located on the corner of Madison and Kildare! This is how you support community by investing in the people! #BlackWomanOwned#SoulFood#Community 🔥🙌🏽🧡 by @the.prproject

Yesterday was another lit day in the community. 💙

We served 139 people and provided hot showers, safer use supplies, naloxone, 100+ bottles of cold water (we lost count!), and so much more.
A huge thank you to Anthony, Byron, Ant, and the Street Priests team for rocking the block with us. We appreciate your partnership and commitment to the community.

You’ll find us every Friday on Pulaski & Wilcox, meeting people where they are.

Do you know what Harm reduction is about? by @the.prproject

📣CALL TO ACTION📣

The 5-Needle Ear Acupuncture Protocol is a tool that was created through the efforts of Dr. Mutulu Shakur, the Black Panthers and the Young Lords to help community members take care of neighbors struggling with trauma, PTSD and substance misuse. We need your support to put this powerful tool back into the hands of the people!

📣 The bill needs to be called for a hearing—and your witness slip can help make that happen.

👉 Please take a moment to submit a witness slip in support of HB 2715 - see ILAcu4All.com for instructions and share with your networks.

We take care of each other!👂♥️

Background: HB 2715 would allow trained specialists-including addiction and harm‑reduction counselors, social workers, nurses, first responders, and other community members-to be certified to provide the 5‑Needle Protocol (5NP), a safe, low‑cost, drug‑free tool used for decades to support people experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and substance misuse.
Right now, access is severely limited. Illinois has only about 800 acupuncturists for 12.7 million people, and many immigrant, low‑income, Black, Brown, Indigenous, rural, and street‑based communities have no access to tool at all. HB 2715 would help close these gaps by allowing trusted community members to be trained and certified to provide 5NP safely and within a clearly defined scope.

As fear, grief, and trauma intensify in groups being targeted by this administration, expanding access to culturally grounded, community‑led support is more urgent than ever.

Together, we can move Illinois toward real health equity and ensure communities have the tools they need to care for one another. by @the.prproject

At PRP, we don’t celebrate the 4th of July. We serve through it.
There’s no freedom when our people are unhoused, overpoliced, and underfed.
There’s no independence when harm reduction is criminalized, and basic dignity is denied.

So we showed up—like we always do.
Mobile showers. Hot meals. Harm reduction supplies. Community care.
Because liberation isn’t a holiday. It’s daily work.
And we are part of the resistance.

Thanks to an incredible partnership with Bethel Church, we’re now offering showers, harm reduction supplies, and community care—right alongside their amazing team who’s serving up hot meals with love.

This is what mutual aid looks like: neighbors helping neighbors, dignity restored, and no one left behind.

📍West Side love.
🍽️ Food & showers.
🧼 Harm reduction in action.
🙏🏽 Real partnerships.

Come through, spread the word, and let’s build together. 💪🏽✨
