My first day versus my last!

My first day my students started class by telling me everything they hated about school. By my last day neither of us wanted to leave. I spent the summer encouraging them to try their best despite what challenges may exist in their minds and on the paper.

I hope this summer was as unforgettable for them as it was for me. If you believe in your students they are sure to surprise you.

Shoutout to all of the Swansea elementary teaching fellows for the amazing work we did this summer. Thank you to the reading department who molded me into the teacher my students needed. Honored to be the best site recognized by the Generation Teach Inc. company.

Lastly, to my Denver Baddies 🤍
You guys bring out the best in me. You inspire me to be the best version of myself always and gave me the confidence to open myself to new opportunities and raise my voice when it matters most! Without you all I would’ve let the wonderful opportunities of this city pass me by. Thank you for all of the laughs, compliments, and gifts of your presence. I’m so grateful I got to do this with you all!

Kudos to my team the Change-makers for placing 2nd overall in the Education Reform Capstone Competition. We presented about educational disparities in rural versus urban areas of Mississippi.

Also shoutout CU Denver RAs by @the_officialsalai

Have you ever lost your shoe in a pit of mud and had to dig it out for 5 to 10 minutes? I did 😏😌

Out of all the outdoorsy things I’ve done this takes the cake! Dirt cake ofc

Thank you Denver! 🏔️ Thank you @muddydashusa 🥾
