POSTS STORIES REELS

Released in 1989, this gem was Bonnie Raitt coming back from the brink! She had been dropped from her label, lost her backing band and had a skiing accident all in a few short years. She was depressed and drinking heavily. But slowly things started to come back in focus as she recovered from the accident. Excellent title choice for this one. Nick of time was the first song I ever heard by Bonnie Raitt. I remember seeing a picture of her with that fiery red hair and guitar. What a heart throb! In my early 20s I fell down a few Bonnie Raitt rabbit holes and couldn’t believe how prolific her song writing career was. A damn fine guitar player. Anyway, that’s what I was thinking about over my morning coffee. by @the_score_records

I’m so happy about the LONG OVERDUE reissue of this punk rock gem. Originally released in 1996 (i think). I was a freshman at UARTS in 1997 and I met a guy from Pittsburgh who was obsessed with @plowunited and finally I asked him to swap mix tapes with me. He made me a 45 minute tape of mostly Plow United songs, a few Lifetime songs and maybe some Ink & Dagger (sadly, I lost the tape.) In return I made him a tape which was mostly made up of The Gits songs with some Bikini Kill and Heavens to Betsy peppered in. That was a great year of discovering new music for me. I’d walk around from UARTS down to South Street everyday. Always had my headphones on, always. And in the Fall of 1997 it was a sure bet I was jammin to my Plow United mix. I can’t remember the guy from Pittsburgh’s name, but thanks dude! by @the_score_records
