1st place. 🥇 Yesterday I competed in my 1st sanctioned strongman comp & took 1st in Novice Women's 64kg. Last year I placed 4th in heavyweight. Same heart, stronger body, stronger mind. My goal was to complete every event. And I did. 💪 🏋️‍♀️ Max Log: 52 lbs ⚡ Deadlift Medley: 5 reps 🪨 Sandstone → Yoke → Sled: 4 in 1:07.83 ⚓ Max Anvil Hold: 60 lbs 🔥 Stone Load: 3 in 0:28.18 It wasn't perfect. On the Threshold, I didn't confirm the yoke height & it was too high for me. I adjusted on the fly & finished. Then I missed 1 axle press. I lift heavier than that for reps, but my arm didn't cooperate. I was devastated, but I stepped back up & locked out the next 2. When things don't go to plan, you adapt & keep going. Lesson learned: check your setup. 😅 About that arm: 3 reconstructive surgeries on my right arm after traumatic elbow & shoulder ruptures & ulnar nerve damage. My surgeons said my mobility wouldn't improve much. I needed help getting dressed & had to adapt to do the simplest things. Today I'm pressing overhead. Daily PT & determination got me here. Even on the rep I missed, I'm proud of that arm. 🙌 Because of my Autism, the sensory side of strongman, like settling under a yoke, and the tacky, trying to make everything perfect can be really uncomfortable. I'm learning to be comfortable being uncomfortable & push through. If you're autistic & wondering if hard things are worth it, they are. 🧩💛 I started lifting seriously last year & began with my coach last Nov. One year later, here I am. 🙏 Couldn't have done it without my coach & my husband Rob, whose support carries me every day. ❤️ Strongman saved me in the most soul-deep way. It grounds me, builds my fortitude & reminds me I can do hard things. This community! Incredible athletes moving impressive weight & cheering each other on to push through & never give up. Thank you to everyone who cheered & believed in me. Thank you coach @thetexasbear , my dietitian @dietitiantayla , nutrition coach @shailafitness who got me started, my chiro Dr. Cross @southtexassportschiropractic , and of coarse my support @rpjr7120 and my sister @liftedxlaura ♡ #strongmancompetit by @the_strong_esthetician

62.0 kg. ✅ Made weight for the 64 kg class, and I can finally breathe. 😮‍💨 All those months of hitting my calories, trusting the process, and showing up on the hard days got me here. The relief is real. Picked up my athlete shirt too, and it feels official now. 🩸 Halloween comp, horror theme, and I'll be taking on Jigsaw's Trinity tomorrow. I'd say I'm ready to play the game. 🪚 Now it's time to EAT and refuel for the Strongman Corporation Nationals qualifier: max log, deadlift medley, sandstone/yoke/sled medley, anvil hold, and stones. 🔥 Thank you to the sponsors @cerberusstrength and Valkyrie Strength Club 🖤 Let's go. 💪 Coach: @thetexasbear Dietitian: @dietitiantayla Support: @rpjr7120 @stuftx #strongman #strongwoman #weightclassathlete by @the_strong_esthetician
8 days out from comp day. 🗓️ @strongmancorporation Nationals Qualifier Today wasn't about chasing numbers. It was percentage work on wheels, steel, and stones. Moving well, staying crisp, trusting the process. Peak week isn't where you prove yourself. It's where you protect everything you've built. The proving happens on Halloween. 🎃🔥 Gym: @theironcryptgym Coach: @thetexasbear Dietitian: @dietitiantayla Chiropractor: Dr. Cross at @southtexaschiropractic Support: @rpjr7120 @stuftx #strongmantraining #mevsme by @the_strong_esthetician
My favorite lift is also my weakest. And that's exactly why I love it. 🏋️‍♀️ The last time I lifted weights before my injuries was in high-school, about 30 years ago. After traumatic ruptures to my elbow and shoulder, plus ulnar nerve damage, my surgeons told me I likely wouldn't get full range of motion back and that I'd have to adapt how I do everyday things. There was a time I couldn't take care of myself. I needed someone to help me with the basic things most people never think twice about. I still adapt some fine motor tasks because of the nerve damage. But now I press weight overhead. Something I was told my arm might never fully reach, I do under load. It doesn't come free. I do my physical therapy mobility work every single day, because if I skip it, my arm regresses fast. That's the part people don't see: the daily, unglamorous work that keeps the progress mine. Overhead press will probably always be my weakest lift. But no matter what's on the bar, every rep is a major accomplishment. It's independence. It's healing. It's proof. I'll never give up, and I'll keep pushing through. 💪 Gym: @theironcryptgym Coach: @thetexasbear Dietitian: @dietitiantayla Support: @rpjr7120 @stuftx Chiropractor: @southtexassportschiropractic #mevsme #strongmantraining #functionaltraining by @the_strong_esthetician
There's a moment in every heavy lift when your body asks if you want to quit. Last night I said no. 🏋️‍♀️ New deadlift PR, 22% over my body weight. Goals like this take more than gym time. They take early mornings, hours in the gym in the evenings, meal prep, recovery, and saying "I'm busy" more than I'd like. If I've had to pass on plans, it's not that I don't care. I'm protecting the time it takes to become who I'm working to be. 🙏 I don't get here alone. Thank you to my coach David for building the plan, my dietitian Tayla for fueling the work, and especially my husband Rob, who holds everything together so I can chase this. You're my person. ❤️ Gym: @theironcryptgym Coach: @thetexasbear Dietitian: @dietitiantayla Support: @rpjr7120 @stuftx #deadliftday #strongmantraining #mevsme by @the_strong_esthetician
On this day, more weight was added to everything. Including doubling the weight on the sandbag carry. Every training day is a sense of accomplishment. Today after some overtime, I worked for the first time on the mammoth @cerberus_strength Cerberus Kratos bar. 🧡 Lifted more than my body weight and the bar is twice my height. I thought I was going to pass out. The surgeons had their own idea of what I'd be able to do after my injuries. I've gone past it, and I'm so proud of myself for that. This is the bar that closes out Jigsaw's Trinity at the Strongman Corporation Nationals qualifier in October: stiff power bar, high-handle trap bar, then max reps on the mammoth bar. 60 seconds. Today was a win 🏆 🙌🏼 Gym: @theironcryptgym Coach: @thetexasbear Support: @rpjr7120 @stuftx Dietitian: @dietitiantayla #strongmantraining #deadlift #strongwoman by @the_strong_esthetician
Hit a new PR on overhead and am sooo close to my next overhead goal. 4lbs away from my overhead goal. AND you can actually see the muscles in my arms. Consistency 😁 I finally graduated to the big girl Rogue iron plates that I had been wondering when I would be able to lift. Well, I did AND hit another PR on the deadlift. 10lbs away from my next deadlift goal 🤜🙌🏼❤️💪🏼 #7weeksout Gym: @theironcryptgym Coach: @thetexasbear Dietitian: @dietitiantayla Support: @rpjr7120 @stuftx Chiropractor: @southtexassportschiropractic #strongmantraining #consistency #mevsme by @the_strong_esthetician
8 weeks out. 🧡 Today started at the chiropractor: adjustments, cupping, fascia scraping, stim, compression, stretching. Then straight into training. October 31st I compete at a Strongman Corporation Nationals qualifying event in Novice Women's 64kg class. Everybody else gets candy. I get this: 🏋🏻‍♀️THE RACK: max log, 3 attempts. 🎃JIGSAW'S TRINITY: deadlift medley. 160, 165, then max reps at 180. 60 seconds. 👻THE THRESHOLD: 44 lb sandstone carried 40 ft and loaded onto a sled, 182 lb yoke back 40 ft, then arm-over-arm sled pull 40 ft. 90 seconds. 🧟‍♀️DEAD WEIGHT: max anvil hold 🤜, 4 attempts, call your weight. 🐙THE OFFERING: 35, 65, 95 lb stones to 42", 40", 38". 60 seconds. Pulled 177lbs on the sled today and cut real time off my run; my coach was happy. Loaded, the comp sled runs 147. Heavier and faster in the same session. The recovery work isn't extra. At this volume it's the only reason the training keeps happening. Longer sessions, more days, same plan. Let's work. 114,283 meters left until the million meter club. Tonight was a quick HIIT row. Not the fun part of Strongman training, but conditioning and breath control show up in every single event.
