ARTIST DEVELOPMENT CONVERSATIONS THAT HIT DIFFERENT #identity #voice #presence by @the_vocalpodcast
What if our greatest contribution isn't teaching people how to speak... ...but creating spaces where people feel safe enough to be heard? Over the past few months, I've been reflecting on something that has quietly shaped my work for more than three decades. Whether I'm working with an artist, a student, a business leader or someone stepping into a room for the very first time, the questions are remarkably similar. Who am I? Where do I belong? How do I express myself without losing who I am? These aren't just creative questions. They're human questions. And perhaps they've never mattered more than they do today. We live in an extraordinary time. Our communities are beautifully diverse. Our cultures increasingly intersect. Generations now grow up with completely different experiences of the world, yet we are asked to live, work and create together. At the same time, technology gives us more ways to communicate than ever before. Yet many people still struggle to feel truly heard. That's why Voice Lab™ and THEGENSHIFT® exist. Not to tell people who they should become. But to create spaces where people can explore who they already are. This Friday we'll be bringing together emerging artists from different backgrounds, cultures and lived experiences. Some stories will be familiar. Others may be heard for the very first time. Every voice matters. Not because we all agree. Not because we all share the same journey. But because every authentic voice adds another perspective to our understanding of what it means to be human. As I continue developing THEGENSHIFT, one belief continues to guide me: The future won't be shaped by louder voices. It will be shaped by people willing to listen across generations, across cultures and across lived experience. Perhaps that's where meaningful dialogue begins. One conversation at a time. — Julie by @the_vocalpodcast
