Somewhere between El Nido and Coron, the days kept ending like this. 🇵🇭🌅 No place we needed to be. No schedule to keep. Just a beach, a few new friends, my family, and another sunset over Palawan. I’ve always loved a good sunset, but I think I’ll remember these a little differently. Not because they were the most beautiful sunsets I’ve ever seen—although they were pretty incredible—but because of who I was watching them with and where life had taken us to see them. A few of my favorite golden-hour moments from our expedition through Palawan. And a little Filipino music from @theransomcollective felt like the perfect soundtrack. 🇵🇭🎶 #palawan #sunset #philippinestravel #travelphotography #familytravel by @the_wandering_firefighter
Welcome to the Philippines. 🇵🇭🌴 After an incredible few days in South Korea, our family adventure continued to Palawan—and this is the part of the trip I’ve really been looking forward to sharing. Port Barton. El Nido. Remote islands. Snorkeling. Cliff jumping. Surfing. Nights spent in beach bungalows. And eventually, an island-hopping expedition with Seaquest that carried us all the way from El Nido to Coron. We saw some incredible places. But, as usually happens when we travel, some of the best parts had very little to do with the places themselves. I have a lot of videos from this trip—some useful, some mindless, and a few that mean quite a bit to me. So for the next little while, come along for the ride! Welcome to Palawan. Let’s go. 🇵🇭 @elnido.tours #palawan #philippinestravel #elnido #familytravel #islandhopping Song: Born For Adventure by @timhalperin by @the_wandering_firefighter
Some places are beautiful. Some places make you feel at home. Every now and then, you find one that’s both. These are just a few of our favorite moments from our stay at Prince John’s in Port Barton, Palawan. We came for the beach, the island hopping, and the sunsets. We’ll remember the smiles, the conversations, and the kindness long after we’ve unpacked our bags. Travel has a funny way of reminding us that while destinations are incredible, it’s often the people who make a place unforgettable. Thank you, John, Jasmine, and everyone who welcomed our family. We hope our paths cross again someday. 🇵🇭❤️ #palawan #philippines #familyadventures #thisisliving #wanderlust @inparadisemusic @brieann_eginoire @addyeginoire @alyssa.eginoire27 @mymys_finsta1 by @the_wandering_firefighter
Paradise isn’t always peaceful. 😂🛶 Imagine kayaking through some of the most beautiful scenery in the Philippines. Birds chirping. The wind through the green trees. The sound of the oar entering the calm, blue water. And these guys. Welcome to family travel with The Wandering Firefighter. 🌎 The scenery? 10/10. The teamwork? 0/10. Would not recommend. One thing I’ve learned traveling with three daughters: Sometimes the unexpected moments become the best memories. Planning your own adventures? A little break from the Philippines this week… 👻 Ghost hunting in Des Moines? Brie and I decided to try something a little different and booked the Deadly Dirge of Des Moines Ghost Tour through the GetYourGuide app. Did we encounter any actual ghosts? Well… let’s just say our little blinking ghost detector seemed particularly excited outside Wooly’s. 😂 One thing I genuinely appreciated was how easy the GetYourGuide app made the planning. 📱 Easy to find and book an experience ⏰ A reminder and countdown before the tour 📍 An exact meeting point with directions available right in the app Sometimes the best part of planning an adventure is simply knowing where you’re supposed to be and when! Twin Lagoon might have been one of my favorite stops on our Coron Ultimate Tour. 🇵🇭🛶 Getting there was half the fun — kayaking through towering limestone cliffs and into water that somehow kept getting more beautiful the farther we went. We booked our Coron Ultimate Tour through GetYourGuide, and this is exactly the kind of experience I love using the app for: finding an activity, booking it in one place, and then just showing up and enjoying the day. Want to try GetYourGuide for your own trip? Download the app here: https://gyg.me/thewanderingfirefighter-app Use code THEWANDERINGFIREFIGHTER5 for 5% off your first booking. More from Coron — and more stops from this Ultimate Tour — still coming. Paid GetYourGuide campaign. Ask ChatGPT to put you on the show it thinks you belong on using a pic! Pretty funny. Love it. What do you think, @theamazingrace ???? lol Post yours below! Any way, got some things in real life to attend to so taking a quick break from the Philippines content—but Coron isn’t finished yet. I still have plenty more from the Ultimate Tour, plus El Nido, surfing, and a few of my favorite moments from the trip that I haven’t shared yet. So consider this a brief layover. ✈️ The Philippines adventure continues soon. 🇵🇭 #philippinestravel #coron #elnido #palawan #amazingrace by @the_wandering_firefighter
The journey to Kayangan Lake might be almost as beautiful as the lake itself. 🇵🇭🌴 This was one of the stops on our Coron Ultimate Tour, and getting there was part of the experience — boat ride, dock, climb, that famous viewpoint over the bay, and then finally down into Kayangan Lake. The water was unreal, the scenery somehow kept getting better, and this ended up being one of my favorite stops of the day. One day. Seven destinations. This was our Coron Ultimate Tour. 🇵🇭🌴 We booked this full-day island-hopping tour through GetYourGuide, and over the next several videos I’m going to break down what the different stops were actually like. Our itinerary included: Kayangan Lake Barracuda Lake Twin Lagoon Skeleton Wreck Coral Garden CYC Beach plus a beach/lunch stop along the route It was a pretty packed day — swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, beaches, ridiculous water, and some of the best scenery we saw in Coron. Happy birthday to the girl who has let me do dumb things for over a quarter of a century! BrieAnn Oxford Eginoire, you’re my favorite person and I hope you had a great bday 🙂 Happy we got to enjoy part of it with our girls and some friends! Life isn’t problem-free. Sometimes you just need to find a place where the problems feel a little farther away. 🌴🇵🇭 There’s always something going on. Work. Stress. Responsibilities. The stuff waiting for you back home. And then every once in a while, you get a day like this. So…look around. Do you see any problems? 😂 For a little while, neither did we. #coron #palawan #philippinestravel #islandhopping #hakunamatata by @the_wandering_firefighter
Sometimes adventure works better when everyone knows there’s a nice pool waiting at the end. 😂🌴🇵🇭 After a few days of a hostel stay, island hopping, open-air bungalows, boat rides, and living pretty simply, Coron Westown Resort was a good change of pace. It also helped me keep Brie’s eyes on the prize. 😂 A real bed. A beautiful pool. And maybe most importantly after several days on the water… laundry service. Sometimes the best travel strategy is balancing the adventure with just enough comfort to keep everybody happy. Coron was a pretty good place to do exactly that. #coron #palawan #philippinestravel #familytravel #coronwestownresort @coronwestownresort by @the_wandering_firefighter
